DH and DSis fallen out - I'm stuck in middle

Sis came to our house upset as she'd had a row with her line manager. I tried to comfort her while she was here and dh suggested to her that her dress had owls on and perhaps that contributed to the confrontation. Sister is now saying that dh is takin sides with her line manager and they I am taking sides with DH and therefore, nobody is supporting her. I feel stuck in the middle as dH did not mean to blame sis, but just pointed out factors that could have contributed to it all. But then again he could have been more tactful about it. On the other hand, sister is been unfair to me (I feel) as I was the first to support her when it first happened!!
AIBU to tell her I support her but also see where dh was coming from or would it be more reasonable to just tell her I want nothing more to do with it as I feel stuck in the middle and I feel that is unfair

Holes?

froggyjump · 06/10/2015 23:11

I wonder if you live anywhere near me? Was DH suggesting the manager might prefer clothing with blades on?

The current fashion for owls on handbags etc (Cath Kidston etc) has proved to be quite divisive in our workplace....

Jelliebabe1 · 06/10/2015 23:11

Your husband was being incredibly insensitive! No matter what she was wearing it what he thought of it! He should have just gone there there and backed off!

DoJo · 06/10/2015 23:13

anothernumberone · 06/10/2015 23:41

Is anyone fiercely trying to work out what the typo dress had owls on translates to in real life or are you all to busy with the owl jokes.

Chippednailvarnish · 06/10/2015 23:43

Is she a muggle? They don't like owls.

Iggi999 · 06/10/2015 23:44

This had better not be another willy-off, with the OP slinking off somewhere and not coming back! to entertain us further
