AIBU to think that as I don't own a cat I shouldn't have to clear up cat sh*t from my garden every other day??

I choose not to own a cat, and yet once again I find myself this morning in my front garden shovelling up big smelly piles of cat poo. If it was my own pet I wouldn't mind, but I'm really getting the hump with being up to my elbows in sh*t because someone else's pet thinks my garden is a toilet. I love animals -usually - but it's so gross, so stinky and really unhygenic. It was cat diarrhea on my rock plants at the weekend just as we were expecting visitors, just caught the little sod squatting on my plants despite me banging on the window in a rage. Does anybody have any suggestions of cat deterrants that actually work? We've tried all sorts but they just ignore it. We even had a deterrant containing lion scent called Silent Roar (!!!!) which is supposed to make them think a big hungry predator is nearby - they didn't give a toss. Ideas anybody...?

Your phone is neither here nor there.

kali110 · 06/10/2015 19:47

I hope it was towards chickens also. I'm so disappointed that mn don't batter an eyelid at animal abuse.

wicked no we are not all callous. We have a beautiful garden but i certainly wouldnt hurt someone's pet.
As i said we have someones cat who continously comes in at night to sleep and steal food!
Maybe i should just put bleach in the water?
( i would obviously, i'm not a cruel person).

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:47

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean. Do you want to extrapolate?

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:48

We all do our own thing Kali. It doesn't bother you but it sure as hell does me!

Anastasie · 06/10/2015 19:49

Jesus. Extrapolate? really?

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 06/10/2015 19:49

The request was to remind people that 1 Personal attacks on Mumsnet aren't allowed 2 animal abuse is frowned upon in civilised societies.
Thanks ever so

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:50

Also, English isn't my first language so that may be causing problems. I know you don't have much else to add Ana but picking on my spelling is getting a bit tedious. Please may you stop? I've not insulted anyone.

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:51

Yes, tell me more. What does my phone is neither here nor there mean?

Anastasie · 06/10/2015 19:52

Right so we have you're ill, your phone is too small, your phone is making you look stupid, and you have a masters degree so are really very clever, and now, English is not your native language.

Pull the other one.
I'm going to join Sparkling, I don't know where she is but as long as it's somewhere else I don't care.

Anastasie · 06/10/2015 19:53

I believe elaborate is the word you are looking for, by the way

kali110 · 06/10/2015 19:53

I haven't sAid it doesn't bother me, i've said repeatedly i have sympathy for the op but i would never harm an animal, someone's pet.
I bet if someone hurt your dog it would be different.
I thought society had moved on.
We really are not as civilised if people actually think this is acceptable.

kali110 · 06/10/2015 19:53

Today 19:53 Anastasie I've sAid it earlier, goady.

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:54

Why would I lie about those things? What an odd thing to say. You're not making much sense either. I know it's been hard for you to listen to what I've said but the attacks and mocking behaviour haven't helped the situation.

I won't hold any grudges though, have a nice evening

I think I've said this before, nobody would hurt my dog because I make sure he exhibits good behaviour.

Anastasie · 06/10/2015 19:58

Oh I can hold a grudge big enough for us both.

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:58

Didn't see your later message Olivia, glad the personal attacks have been noticed. I thought you had to report for them to be noticed..

Anastasie · 06/10/2015 19:59

Is this what's known as a GF?

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:59

That's a real shame. I used to be like that but it's actually helped me to be a calmer person since I let stuff go more often. I'm still working at it dealing with those situations in real life, but I definitely don't want to dip into it with strangers online!

crumblybiscuits · 06/10/2015 19:59

If it's between me possibly contracting toxoplasmosis from cat poo and upsetting a cat, I'm definitely going to upset the cat. I use a noise repellent but if nothing was working I would escalate my efforts to keep cats away. Cat owners never seem to care about the dangers their cat's poo is spreading.

LoveChickens · 06/10/2015 19:59

Yes I think so Ana

Anastasie · 06/10/2015 20:02

sorry you think what?
