5 of us, so hard to decide,
but generally used to go for 2 or 3 pizzas and chips and lots of salad. these are bog standard supermarket pizzas.
after comparing with dd's friends, I have now cut down to 2 pizzas,
occasionally a smattering of chicken nuggs,
still a load of salad and chips
but now apparently chips are wrong.

what is the norm?

They are both extremely skinny too.

NoahVale · 03/10/2015 18:20

so 3 pizzas but no chips,

and lots of salad.

it is a minefield.
my teens eat what they are given but it is their friends that are shocked, bit like mumsnet really, too much or too little it seems

PrimalLass · 03/10/2015 18:21

Chips are never wrong.

NoahVale · 03/10/2015 18:22

not steamed veggies here either

Depends on the chips too home made with a slightly chunky wedge cut would prob be healthier than garlic bread.

yumyumpoppycat · 03/10/2015 18:25

We would maybe have crudites and hummus with pizza for the kids and salad for us

Branleuse · 03/10/2015 18:27

3 supermarket normal frozen sized pizzas between 5 of us

TheCatsMother99 · 03/10/2015 18:32

In my mind it's weird, just because it's something I've never eaten together so it seems really strange for me.

nooka · 03/10/2015 18:33

Two adults and two teens here, our Dominos order is usually three large pizzas plus two cheesy bread things. That gives enough for supper and lunch next day. If we buy supermarket pizza then it depends on the brand/depth/size, so if crispy then one each but it it's more doughy then three between the four of us. Eating out we usually have salad too.

spanisharmada · 03/10/2015 18:33

Of course you have chips (or wedges) with pizza, for dipping in the garlic mayo!

TheBunnyOfDoom · 03/10/2015 18:34

No DC here, but DP and I get a large pizza each, which lasts us dinner plus leftovers for breakfast and lunch each. We don't get one and share because he loves spicy toppings and I don't, plus I love cold pizza, and there'd be none left if we did Grin

NickNackNooToYou · 03/10/2015 18:47

If takeout we never have chips with pizza but if I'm bunging in a frozen one we always do pls salad as my nod to vaguely being healthy Usually 3 between 2 adults & 2 DCs (9 & 10) for takeout and just the 2 if having chips.

If I gave them steamed veg they'd think I'd lost my mind ConfusedGrin

BrandNewAndImproved · 03/10/2015 18:52

Pizza and chips isn't an unknown weird phenomenon.

All the pizza deliverys do wedges as sides and a wedge is basically a fat chip. Pizza Hut offer chips as a side and there was a thread not long ago where plenty of posters said they would have garlic bread, lasagne and chips.

3 of us here, I do 2 pizzas, garlic bread and salad. When there was four I added wedges to it.

DickDewy · 03/10/2015 18:53

Pizza with chips is so wrong to me.

My 17 year old will eat a whole pizza to himself (not a huge one), we always have it with a green salad.

livingtowork · 03/10/2015 18:57

This is our bargain dinner tonight :) www.co-operativefood.co.uk/5-frozen-meal-deal/ Me and two boys :) very impressed to be honest

emwithme · 03/10/2015 18:57

It's just DH and I and we have two 10 inch (Asda-top-your-own) pizzas, plus salad, coleslaw and potato salad. I always end up with half left for breakfast the next day.

I tried buying one 14 inch but my oven is too small.

Clueing4looks · 03/10/2015 18:58

We have a 9 inch individual pizza each, plus wedges and coleslaw/salad. and ice cream and Pepsi

cosytoaster · 03/10/2015 19:00

My two teen DSs would have a standard (12") pizza each, no chips or salad. Like another poster said within an hour of eating it (or any other meal) they're back in the kitchen getting cereal and/or toast.

QuintShhhhhh · 03/10/2015 19:02

When we order from pizza hut we do 2 large pizzas, 2 portions of chicken wings, 1 portion of potato wedges.

BikeRunSki · 03/10/2015 19:25

My PIL do 2 Dr Oetker pizzas and salad between 6 - 4 adults, 2 DC.

We take snacks in our suitcases when we go to visit.

Frequency · 03/10/2015 19:31

Livingtowork, my DC2 has just had that for her playdate.

Well, part of that, I saved the mushrooms for myself for later, they had the pizza, wedges and icecream and demolished the lot between 2 of them.

Jeffreythegiraffe · 03/10/2015 19:33

Two pizzas and one garlic bread and salad between me, dh and my two small dc. They won't eat the salad, dh and I eat most of the pizza.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 03/10/2015 19:38

We have one pizza each (normally Pizza Express shop-bought so not huge), with a garlic baguette between 2 and lots of chopped up salad veg.

Kim82 · 03/10/2015 19:41

We tend to have 4 pizzas between 5 of us (me, dh, ds14, dd11 and dd8.). No salad, no chips, no garlic bread. It all goes and Ds then goes back to the kitchen an hour later to make more food - I've no idea where he puts it all!

riverboat1 · 03/10/2015 19:47

I love those Dr Oetker pizzas, but would allow one per adult. Maybe 1/2 per under 10.

When we have pizza its in front of the telly, so no messing about with chips and salads (or indeed plates). I might do garlic bread and/or crudités, but it has to be something you can eat with your hands from a communal bowl/plate.
