5 of us, so hard to decide,
but generally used to go for 2 or 3 pizzas and chips and lots of salad. these are bog standard supermarket pizzas.
after comparing with dd's friends, I have now cut down to 2 pizzas,
occasionally a smattering of chicken nuggs,
still a load of salad and chips
but now apparently chips are wrong.

what is the norm?

Sure it just depends how much you all eat - were there lots of left overs when you have three?

Chips with pizza is weird

We'd have two pizzas, big salad and garlic bread for fve of us (mine are still primary school though)

ragged · 03/10/2015 17:49

Respite at the moment, but we've had horrendous pizza-related tantrums in the past (from the teenagers). They are obsessed.

For 2 adults +2 teens (and 1 other child?, all of us greedy pigs): 2 x 12" pizza plus we have big heap of steamed veg with that, which probably means 2-4 pieces left over (teens squabble over leftovers at breakfast time next day).

ragged · 03/10/2015 17:49

ps: Little DS didn't used to eat pizza so chips was a safety net for him.

calzone · 03/10/2015 17:52

Ds has 4 friends over today.

I ordered 3 large Dominos pizzas. DH and ds2 had a couple of slices too.

No salad
No chips.

wankerchief · 03/10/2015 17:53

2 pizzas and a garlic bread for for of us

RoganJosh · 03/10/2015 17:56

We have four and salad between five. Three seems to be about one slice short.

Tarzanlovesgaby · 03/10/2015 17:57

3 pizzas (dr oetker size ones) for 4 of us. nothing else but I put extra toms, pesto and cheese on top.

PenelopeClearwater · 03/10/2015 17:58

We usually have 3 between 5 of us and chips.

Pizza and chips isn't weird! It's great.

Behooven · 03/10/2015 18:00

2 large dominos for 3 adults. There's usually 2 or 3 bits left over but I'd rather have too much than too little.

KittensandKids · 03/10/2015 18:00

My DC eat a full pizza each but that's just pizza, I would probably go for 3 with chips and salad.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/10/2015 18:01

Chips with pizza?
Steamed veg with pizza?
Has the world gone mad?

TheCatsMother99 · 03/10/2015 18:02

Chips and pizza? That's really weird. Sorry, u couldn't get past that. (Light hearted)

LikeASoulWithoutAMind · 03/10/2015 18:03

We have 2 pizzas between 5 with a big bowl of salad. Maybe garlic bread.

I think by the time they are teens though we'll need more.

TurnOffTheTv · 03/10/2015 18:05

Steamed veg and pizza? ??

originalmavis · 03/10/2015 18:05

Nooooooo. You just dont do pizza and chips. To much carb!

TalkinPeece · 03/10/2015 18:06

We have pizza every friday
make from scratch inc dough
kids each have their own, DH and I share
450g of flour and then all the toppings

no other food needed except the pizza

cardibach · 03/10/2015 18:07

I understand chips with pizza. Steamed veg, though? That is just weird. Teen DD and I have one between us with salad. No leftovers.

cardibach · 03/10/2015 18:09

Also, I don't understand the concept of too much carb.

Katedotness1963 · 03/10/2015 18:10

Figure on 1/2 a pizza each and plenty of salad.

MissMarpleCat · 03/10/2015 18:10

Steamed veg and pizza?
I used to do 3 pizza, coleslaw, salad and garlic bread. No chips.

CharlotteCollins · 03/10/2015 18:10

In whose mind are chips wrong?

Your family? Your friends?

CharlotteCollins · 03/10/2015 18:12

Can't see much difference between garlic bread and chips, nutritionally. It's basically a choice between Italian pizza and American pizza!

Pobspits · 03/10/2015 18:13

Dh, me and 2 young dc - 2 large pizzas and salad.

Kids get pizza and chips at school so it's not an unknown combination.

Tiggeryoubastard · 03/10/2015 18:14

2 of those pizzas between 5 would've led to hilarity when mine were teenagers. I sort of get chips, but its still not enough pizza. We would have had 4 and 2 garlic breads, either baguettes or flat ones. Most teens have very healthy appetites. I'm now a bit overweight but I put that on due to other reasons.

Merguez · 03/10/2015 18:16

You are lucky you do not have boys.

Our rule of thumb is one Pizza Express pizza per person. Plus salad, never chips.

Unless the dc are on their own (pizza is one of the things they can 'cook' themselves) in which case they like to have 3 pizzas between 2. No salad.

Followed by a large bowl of cornflakes an hour later.
