I think the nuke thing just highlights his naivety really.

Our entire nuclear deterrent is based on the principle of mutually assured destruction. Ie. if you bomb me then I'll make sure your country gets it too.

There's few states that would possibly nuke us. One day maybe..maybe North Korea but otherwise I can't think of any country who would remotely do it.

But it only takes one country. And also the more realistic albeit unlikely chance that ISIS gets a nuke and thinks it'd be a good idea to lob one our way.

Our only defence is the threat that if they nuked us, we'd make sure their country gets nuked too and chances are we'd kill someone they do love.

But wait....JC has ruled it out. He's said categorically that he will NEVER use Trident. So basically it's an open invite. If you are a terrorist/rogue nation now, who would you nuke? The USA who would nuke you straight back? Or the UK who have said they will not under any circumstances.

But he'll get a mixed reception. Some people can see it, other people want to macrame him a despatch box. He's going to remain a divisive force for.. actually I'm not in the mood to think about it.
