To think Corbyn is a drippy leftwing MNer?

If he's not he should be.

Immigration is an 'opportunity' apparently.

For a very brief interlude I thought he would actually make the LP electable. He won't. He's stuck in 1984 and is massively missing the point.

JC strides to middle of stage, picks up mike, head tilts and says "did you mean to be so rude?

FanOfSpam · 30/09/2015 17:09

Grin Oooo!

ShammyDavis · 30/09/2015 17:20

Oh look now you have a cheerleader.

talking of drippy.

JessicaFletchersEyes · 30/09/2015 17:25

"Did you mean to be so rude?" is pretty drippy itself, I always thought. Anyone less drippy than you will just say 'Yes I did.'

But Corbyn's just essentially announced unilateral nuclear disarmament as policy, it seems (something else Burnham makes much more sense about) so he's just not viable as PM on any level. I'm slightly relieved.

It really is some kind of daytrip to 1981.

But we don't have any drippy leftwinger MNetters.

Only strident, angry, hang DC by the bollox, types of leftwingers.

BeyondYourPeripheralVision · 30/09/2015 17:36

Agree with you OP, if anyone were to use that line on me they'd get a resounding "yes", possibly followed up with a "was I not clear?".

JessicaFletchersEyes · 30/09/2015 17:38

Exactly.

I worry about the people who think it's really badass Grin

1984 was a good year. I went to my first festival that year.

JessicaFletchersEyes · 30/09/2015 18:34

1984 was a whole other thing Smile

I can't believe what a fuck up this all is already. I suspect I either need to get lobotomized and hug people or get drunk. I can't stop thinking about 2020.

Love a goady thread title Grin

5 long years to go. Maybe get a life?

JessicaFletchersEyes · 30/09/2015 18:55

Oh I'm well into Wine catastrophisation mode now Grin. Such a depressing conference.

Mistigri · 30/09/2015 19:04

What's his username? I think we should be told!

He might be a threat to the security ... nay the very existence, of mumsnet!

JessicaFletchersEyes · 30/09/2015 19:30

Attempts to work out Katie Hopkins' NN by process of elimination while she was on BB failed, I think.

I reckon Jezza would be even harder to work out. He's probably a lurker anyway Smile

Mistigri · 30/09/2015 19:43

We shouldn't let our defences down though. He'll be doing really dangerous things like ... ummm ... nudging the debate slightly leftwards and thereby threatening the security of mumsnet while menacing us all with nuclear destruction.

Things might get really bad and George Osborne might start nicking his ideas (did I read today that GO might suggest to the Tory conference that, um, well maybe we should do something about tax dodging?).

Christ, next thing we know, mumsnet towers will have been privatised and we'll have to queue up to post, once, every second Thursday of the month.

Septembersunrays · 30/09/2015 19:44

Grin that is all. Grin

Mistigri · 30/09/2015 19:44

Sorry, mumsnet towers will have been nationalised ... Duh.

See, he's a danger to my very ability to type a coherent sentence.

Hello Jeremy oops sorry Ghosty

ghostyslovesheep · 30/09/2015 20:07

eh?

niceguy2 · 30/09/2015 20:11

I like Jeremy. He seems like a perfectly nice honest guy who genuinely and passionately believes in the policies he's proposing.

I think it's great he has said he will never use nukes. Who wants him to?

I think it's great he wants to end austerity. I mean nobody likes it.

Scrap tuition fees. As my kids are going to Uni, that sounds bloody good to me too.

He's a man of principle, no-one has ever managed to dig any dirt up on him and he's almost certainly never sucked a pig off.

On paper he's fucking perfect.

However........I live in the real world.

These socialist lefty policies didn't work in the 1970's and they're even less likely to work now.

We all want to end austerity, scrap fees, tax the rich, protect the NHS, have great schools and plant money trees in the poor's newly built council home garden's.

He's an idealist living in an imperfect world. With Jeremy as PM our economy would go to ratshit and other countries would take us even less seriously than they already do.

Sorry I'd rather vote for the Tories with Gideon in charge and that's saying something.
