AIBU to think that the full moon is partly to blame for the high number of troll threads today?

Just that really. I'm becoming disillusioned by Mumsnet.

Oh some of them are worth a read. I'm relatively child free tonight apart from the wee ones and some of them have given me a much needed laugh

When new people join they are often advised to go and read Classics. I always cringe because with a few exceptions they are not the best of MN by a long way or representative. Sad

My sides have remained unsplit but the ones that are supposedly hilarious.

MN classics were always a bit "you had to be there" I don't revisit them and think the bar has been set way too low with recent entries into the MN canon. Some were funny because you knew the OP's situation.

I think it all went wrong after the great burnt cakes for the birds scandal by Alfredrex a few years ago.

Sparklingbrook · 28/09/2015 18:51

I agree greenhill. Even threads now that raise a tiny chuckle create cries of 'Put it in Classics'.

TheIncomparableDejahThoris · 28/09/2015 18:54

I think half the site is "not on the level".

Obs2015 · 28/09/2015 18:59

I do remember that on MN, about 8 or so years ago, for about 2 years, the threads were very very weird, funny, peculiar, or troll'ish, or occasionally all of those, at full moons.

Obs2015 · 28/09/2015 19:04

I am terrible at spotting trolls. Even after all these years, I get too invested, don't spot the signs. Uber embarrassing really, because I'm not stupid, but this makes me feel it!

ChilliAndMint · 28/09/2015 20:56

Well last night was in fact a " Blood Moon", so perhaps this might have intensified the trollishness somewhat.

Yes, the 17 one: there was a very similar troll thread deleted a few weeks ago and the deletion message said it was deleted as it was 'a load of nonsense'. And the new thread had 'a load of nonsense' in the titleHmm

FarFromAnyRoad · 28/09/2015 21:23

Anyone who works with the public or in a school or similar will tell you without doubt that the full moon has an effect on people! I absolutely believe it.
I have to hide the troll threads - either that or sit on my hands otherwise I just get in trouble Sad

Apparently you get more women in labour on a full moon, too.
