Management giving the scrap of their catered food after a meeting to plebs

I find it very insulting that management give their leftovers to other people, only after a long meeting and thw food is all looking a bit tired.

This isn't a nice thing for them to do right?

Well I didn't see it live but looked it up on Iplayer ssd. I do love them dearly but OMG The One Show is just awful isn't it? Kept cutting away to random crappy reports, then back to them. I watched through my fingers.

Loved Toyah. DH saw her the next day outside her house.

I still like to imagine Duran Duran as if it's 1982. Smile

BeeMyBaby · 26/09/2015 15:27

I'm always looking out for leftovers at my work (I have lunch as well, its just an extra tasty bonus), but I've found that those who the lunches were issued for have begun to think I am greedy - frankly I'm not the one expecting the company to buy me lunch - obviously they think the bin is more deserving than me Sad. Incidentally I'm not overweight so they obviously just dont like me...

WicksEnd · 26/09/2015 15:32

Imagines sad troll like character sat home alone when suddenly, BAM! I KNOW! I'm gonna go on MN and wind em all up about something. Now, let me think......... I know! Sandwiches!

MitzyLeFroof · 26/09/2015 15:33

There's no excuse for throwing food in the bin without first trying to find a welcoming piehole or two for it.

So wasteful.

ssd · 26/09/2015 15:35

Agree, it was a bit cringey!!

whilst I like to remember them circa 1982, I also like to think I'm still 16 and young and carefree and skinny

eedon · 26/09/2015 15:56

Depends ho its presented and if you are never invited to meetings where there is food.

Babyroobs · 26/09/2015 16:01

When i work a nightshift, we often get leftover sandwiches, nibbles , fruit etc left for us after there has been an evening governors/ managers meeting. It is always appreciated.

Mintyy · 26/09/2015 16:06

WicksEnd - that is exactly what they do.

Other favourite subjects to troll about are pyjamas on the school run, being told off for breastfeeding in public, older children in pushchairs, older children in pyjama pants, why are all the sahms/wohms so nasty about each other, boys over the age of 5 in female changing rooms, give me your best blow job techniques. Oh, yes, and of course ... poo!

Did they bulk it out with lentils, OP?

sproketmx · 26/09/2015 16:44

I wouldn't mind. It's free food. What's the problem? They couldn't finish it so left it for others. Like upon me finishing my shift I still had half a box of liquorice all sorts. Did I take them away like it's my ball and ur no playing with it? No I shouted they were up for grabs from the truck

And MIL / DIL threads

TheCatsMother99 · 26/09/2015 21:38

I thought it was normal to put the left over sandwiches/buffet/whatever is left over after meetings in the communal kitchen for others to help themselves?

I hate waste so I have no problem with it

InTheBox · 26/09/2015 22:21

Slightly late but nonetheless...

CrystalSkull · 27/09/2015 00:38

My boss admitted it's for tax reasons. If it's not shared out among the staff more generally, it could be viewed as a taxable benefit (apparently). And there was I, thinking they did it out of the goodness of their hearts!

Canyouforgiveher · 27/09/2015 00:44

I work at the headquarters of a very large company. last lunchtime meeting I organised, the CEO, COO, and CFO, not invited to the meeting, came down scrounging for leftovers afterwards (in fairness, I had notified them about the meeting).

Canyouforgiveher · 27/09/2015 00:45

I also often organise dinners as part of meeting and we order flowers for the tables. If we do, I send them afterwards to various people in the firm who might have been involved to say thank you - yeah they are second hand flowers but I seriously doubt anyone is insulted (unless they are the OP)
