Management giving the scrap of their catered food after a meeting to plebs

Peasantsuzzane · 26/09/2015 08:40

I find it very insulting that management give their leftovers to other people, only after a long meeting and thw food is all looking a bit tired.

This isn't a nice thing for them to do right?

I'd be horrified if the food was just binned instead.

clam · 26/09/2015 14:30

I too called 'bollocks' an hour or two ago, but couldn't be arsed to report as it's not a particularly offensive thread; in fact it's quite amusing.

The other one (about a child having died and the grandmother kicking off) that MrsDV started a thread about was appalling, and rightly deserved to be reported and zapped asap as it was triggering for so many.

SilverOldie2 · 26/09/2015 14:37

So OP's a PBP eh, who would have guessed.

PuppyMonkey · 26/09/2015 14:40

Ooh, I can see this thread going down in MN mythology - Vo Au Vont Gate.Grin

Mintyy · 26/09/2015 14:44

Actually (sorry to be pedantic Mary) but I don't think its a new way of dealing with trolling on here. I've seen Mumsnet leave this sort of thread up before. Quite extraordinary!

ssd · 26/09/2015 14:47

well, I've never worked in an office and had no idea you got catered meetings and left overs!!

the things you learn on MN...

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 14:49

DB says the level of poshness of the buffet sometimes depends on the client you are schmoozing. Shock

Entry level buffet upwards.

Trickydecision · 26/09/2015 14:50

The board members have the appetite of elderly sparrows whereas the rest of us are more like demented vultures.

Thanks, Mitzi, that deserves several Grins

ilovesooty · 26/09/2015 14:52

The OP always finds something to complain about. It must be tiring being so bitter and resentful. I'm beginning to feel rather sorry for her.

catfordbetty · 26/09/2015 14:58

How do people tell that a poster has previously been banned? Who decides that the intention is to troll? (Genuine questions - I am a relatively new poster.) FWIW, I agree with the sentiment in the OP.

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 15:03

MNHQ have final say catfordbetty. they respond to reports and check things out.

ilovesooty · 26/09/2015 15:03

This one is easy to spot. Some of them are.

ilovesooty · 26/09/2015 15:04

Having said that I still think the best way of dealing with them is to report and leave MNHQ to deal with them.

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 15:05

There are often little signs, words used, subject matter chosen, tend to be in AIBU too.

catfordbetty · 26/09/2015 15:07

None of those answers leave me any the wiser.

catfordbetty · 26/09/2015 15:07

Sorry X post.

SenecaFalls · 26/09/2015 15:08

In our office, someone always sends an email around to let people know when there is food for the taking in the break room. It never lasts long.

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 15:09

After you have been here a while you'll see catfordbetty. When I first joined I had no idea people would post things on MN that weren't true, or to wind people up.

catfordbetty · 26/09/2015 15:10

OK. Point taken - thanks.

Chottie · 26/09/2015 15:14

This happens where I work too. It's about not wasting food and it saves some other people from having to buy lunch.

ssd · 26/09/2015 15:14

dont feel bad catfordbetty, I wouldnt know a troll if it bit me on the bum and I've been here forever! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 15:17

I hope you don't feel bad catfordbetty. You just need to adjust your trolldar and not believe everything you read.

I am nearly 4 years in and just getting the hang of it.

Some people aren't bothered by trolls or PBP and think reporting is terrible as well.

ssd · 26/09/2015 15:20

9anyway sb, did you see JT and SLB on the one show a wee while ago? what did you think?)

Adarajames · 26/09/2015 15:24

I'm so glad not everywhere wastes food! Was at a catered event couple weeks ago, was masses of food left, and they just tipped it all into one big bin, mixed up, so totally wasted, yet could've fed a few dozen more people, volunteering with a soup run and homeless charities, I find it especially upsetting and anger inducing!
