Regular poster, name changed in case this outs me. ??Following a conversation today in the office about the program First Dates where that daft woman admitted to blow drying her "nunn", I said that sometimes in the winter I blow dry myself when I am drying my hair. Not my fanjo, I hasten to add, I just sometimes get cold so a blast of warm air down my dressing gown warms me up. My office now think I'm ridiculous. Confused??So, AIBU to blow dry myself? Does anyone else?!

One of my dsis uses a hair dryer . I just thought it was her weirdness. Mmm, on my part, thermals, a onesie and an electric blanket work just fine.

Lynnm63 · 22/09/2015 19:07

YANBU. Id love one of those whole body dryers But cannot bring myself to spend £1k on one, even if I had the money to waste.

Gwenhwyfar · 22/09/2015 19:17

I don't dry myself at all. Put body lotion on wet skin then hang around with the towel around me while I dry my hair. Is that weird?
I see no problem with people using a hair dryer (except the cost, but I suppose it's only a couple of minutes), but I don't see why there'd be a hygiene problem with using a towel if you only use your own.

Please be careful doing this between toes, especially if you have medical conditions.
I did this and ended up with the worst athletes foot the doctor had ever seen.
I didn't even think it looked like the usual AF but more like ulcers, I panicked.
Doctor said better to dry with towel and let air get to feet than dry with heat.

JumboFuckingJet · 22/09/2015 19:47

Phantom I totally do that!

The only reason I don't do this is because I currently don't own a hairdryer and it's not the same doing it with a Babyliss Big Hair, I've tried but I do put my socks and knickers in the microwave on a really cold morning, if I've forgotten to lay them on a radiator overnight.

GreyBird84 · 22/09/2015 19:49

I use the cold function to cool me down but I'm warm blooded.

DH dries his hair body with the hair dryer!

I think it's quite normal.

Fluffyears · 22/09/2015 20:00

Dp dries whole body with the hairdryer. I just do my hair. The only unusual thing I use it for is to blast my metal eyelash curlers so they are heated and work better.

BoffinMum · 22/09/2015 20:13

I shall suggest this practice to DH as he gets through far too many towels, being an hairy man like Esau in the Bible.

BoffinMum · 22/09/2015 20:14

I want one of those Centre Parcs whole body drying thingies.

appleoftheluck · 22/09/2015 20:54

Yep! I hairdryer my bed in the winter when I first get in!

RoboticSealpup · 22/09/2015 21:07

DH once saw a guy in the gym drying his buttcrack with the hairdryer, before putting his jeans on. In clear view of every other man in the changing room. That was pretty unreasonable.

FithColumnist · 22/09/2015 21:46

God, I do this. Particularly the hairy bits which is essentially everything

fourlegstwolegs · 23/09/2015 10:01

I had never thought to warm the bed up with a hairdryer - definitely doing that now!
DP dries his gentlemans vegetables with the hair dryer....its quite a sight....

redredblue · 23/09/2015 17:27

I do this every time I get out the shower
Not weird at all

OvO · 23/09/2015 17:31

I hairdryer myself all the time.

I'm also another one that tents my duvet and aims the hairdryer in to warm it up.

When I get back ache or period pains I lie on my bed and aim the hairdryer (also lying in bed) at the small of my back. Really really helps.

TooShyShyHushHush · 23/09/2015 17:35

I do this all the time.

And the kids love a good blast too.

The cats not so keen though.

I've never done the tent thing but fancy trying that tonight!

ArendelleQueen · 23/09/2015 17:54

"DP dries his gentlemans vegetables with the hair dryer"

Shock I could not share a bed or my life with someone who did this.
