In The Night Garden

I never put my ds in front of the telly he tries to watch it when on our laps but I never sit him in front of it.I have cleaned the living room so it is dog hair free. I have a very long haired bearded collie/cross husky. AIBU to put him in the living room in front of in the night garden for half an hour(I will check on him obviously) while I clean my messy house and finish the chicken and mango curry? I would put him in the carrier but I would rather keep him away while I am hoovering the dog hair. I feel like a bit of a dick leaving him in front of the telly but I can't stand the mess!

Biscuit
Cerseirys · 17/09/2015 15:22

By your definition half of MN would be dicks then OP! Biscuit from me too...

Crazypetlady · 17/09/2015 15:28

I didn't say people who put their babies in front of tv were dicks at all.I personally feel bad because he really enjoys his cuddles.

Hmmm it sounds like you're just making a point that you never allow him to watch tv. It does come across as though you think you're above others that do tbh.

Mrscog · 17/09/2015 15:40

How old is he?

Crazypetlady · 17/09/2015 15:41

No that was honestly not how it was intended! I am sorry if it was .Not only do I have resting bitch face I have accidental internet bitch oh dear. I just was trying to point out he doesn't watch it usually that's why I feel so bad. I don't mind if people let their babies watch tv or not:)

Stealth boast?

DD lives in front of In The Night Garden pretty much. Iggle Piggle is the only way I can make toast, let alone a bloody curry.

Crazypetlady · 17/09/2015 15:43

He is 3 and a half months. He decided he wants to be held anyway so I will hoover when he falls asleep then put him in his carrier.

elelfrance · 17/09/2015 15:44

put him in front of the telly, get what needs doing done. no need for stress, worrying or anything, half an hour is absolutely nothing in the course of a lifetime !

Crazypetlady · 17/09/2015 15:44

No it wasn't a stealth boast it's just because he is so young please don't get me wrong god this post has come out all wrong

If this is real then I would say go for it.

My ds is 3 months and sometimes I try this, but he usually cooes at it for 5 minutes then starts screaming.

Crazypetlady · 17/09/2015 15:50

Pyjamarmadrama Yeah he cried after five minutes oh well, and yes it's real I have had a rough few days , I probably am appearing quite insane to be honest.Blush

Odd title for your thread. I was expecting discussion on whether Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle were 'at it' or does Mr Pontypine permanently have wood since he's made of wood?
Most disappointed.

Crazypetlady · 17/09/2015 15:59

Corlette
Sorry! maybe another time. Or now. And then we can just all forget about this stupid moment of madness thread or I will just hide in shame forever Wink

I know the feeling, every time someone asks how me or ds are my reply is always to give them a breakdown of how much sleep I've had. I then walk away asking myself why on earth I just said that.

I'm slightly obsessed with how much sleep I'm getting at night.

GudrunBrangwen · 17/09/2015 16:00

What a bloody weird thread.

OP - please don't worry, you have done absolutely nothing wrong.

Sometimes MN is fffing strange.

We call it Fight Garden btw. because ds only likes stuff like X men and Spiderman - except strangely he will watch this. First rule of Fight Garden is: You do not talk about Fight Garden.

Pyjamaramadrama · 17/09/2015 16:02

Oh and I almost started a thread asking if I was bu not to wash the duvet cover after ds had been sick on it for the millionth time Blush

I think it's the lack of adult conversation being on maternity leave!

SpaggyBollocks · 17/09/2015 16:03

just who are the blue Pontypines??

cjt110 · 17/09/2015 16:08

My DS sometimes gets so whingy and whiny, the ONLY thing that soothes him is to put ITNG on. I felt "guilt" about him watching tv - I think brought on by the ida of children getting too much screen time thats in the media (oxymoron or what!) so regularly now.

He watches about 10 mins of a morning before it gets switched to BBC news and then watches Waybuloo and ITNG before bed. He loves it so do we secretly and it gives him the start of his night time routine.

spiderlight · 17/09/2015 16:09

They're not Pontipines - they're the Wottingers. Their appearance used to cause huge excitement in our house. I don't get out much.

cjt110 · 17/09/2015 16:11

Why don't the ha hoos appear more than they do? WTF are they?

SpaggyBollocks · 17/09/2015 16:11

the Wottingers?? do they ever get a proper role in the show or do they just pop out and have an occasional dance?

YouBastardSockBalls · 17/09/2015 16:13

The wottingers but for some reason they're the only creatures in the night garden that we don't say goodnight to Sad

RockerMummy184 · 17/09/2015 16:34

I feel really sorry for the Wottingers. They seem nicer than the Pontypines, less squeaky and they don't have strange daily dancing rituals in the front garden.

Upsy Daisy is a slut, she's forever hitching up her skirt and kissing everyone.

I love Macca Pacca.

WilsonWilsonWoman · 17/09/2015 16:42

Can't believe no one has asked for the recipe for the chicken and mango curry yet. Grin
