to buy a cloak?

Full disclosure, I am a Harry Potter fan.

They look so cosy and warm! I want to swish about the place in a mid-length cloak/hooded cape and feel magical.

DH thinks I will look like a twit but he's stupid.

I'll look fabulous won't I?

I have wraps shawls and ponchos and I need a cloak right now....

A cloak is a good thing. I have a cape, but one day I like to think I would own a cloak.

I used to have a muff which my mum made for me. It was brown faux fur with red tartan ribbon.

Love the cape you linked to OP.

I want a cloak now too.
Black with emerald green lining.

And I want an enormous, sleek jet black horse too.
But I have more chance of getting the cloak TBH.

I had a cape a few years ago. Fur round the sleeves and neck.
I considered having the fur removed but it would've been £40+.

I recycled it eventually.

But that wasn;t a cloak.

All 3 of mine are full length, with hood. Was jealous of the Scottish widows ad ones, so made myself 2, other was a gift. Wish I was brave enough to wear them out more, but not exactly usual wear in sarf East london in'it!

PurpleHairAndPearls · 13/09/2015 10:20

We should all wear our cloaks with pride. It'll be the new MN scarf and we can catch each other's eyes and nod sagely.

When I first modelled my furry Cape thing for DH he said "you look like a.....

Little pixie" Smile

I was thinking I bore a striking resemblance to Grace Kelly or someone similarly stylish but in reality I look like I live under a toadstool.

What's the MN scarf? did I miss something?

I want a cloak ~ or a cape now! I have two gorgeous wool sort of open fronted poncho/wrap things, which could pass as open fronted capes I think. Someone made them for me as a gift many years ago. They are lovely, but unlined and very scratchy!! I used to wear them occasionally in the 80's.

A good friend of mine wore a beautiful dark green hooded cloak for her winter wedding. It. Was. Gorgeous!!!

We should definitely start a trend.

I think they can look really nice but I think I would look like this.

to buy a cloak?

I really wanted a long black velvet one with scarlet lining. I was 8.
Nowadays I'd be channelling miss marple.
When I was little I had a red rubberised rain Cape. It was excellent, carried bag underneath it, stayed dry. Unfortunately I tripped and cut my head open because I couldn't put my hands out to stop myself. Apart from that it was great.

I've got a cloak.

It's a brown velvet Scottish Widows type thing and I bought it in Amsterdam when I was seventeen. I wore it for years before tucking it away in the wardrobe.

It came in useful a few years ago, when I was pregnant with DS and couldn't button up my coat anymore. Grin

MrsPear · 13/09/2015 15:58

I would like this one but no where near brave enough . Pleased you got yours op.

Solo · 13/09/2015 16:08

I was looking at that one too MrsPear but I think it might be too short for me judging by the comments/reviews.

MiddleAgeMiddleEngland · 13/09/2015 17:54

I always wanted one when I was a child. My favourite teacher used to swish around in the playground in hers, I thought she was amazing. Sadly my mother thought that a bottle green gaberdine macintosh was more sensible Sad

There's an elderly woman who lives in my town who wears a cloak and carries a wicker shopping basket, I'd like to be her when I grow up.
