Abroad wasn't stated however the op used the word resort which is something I would associate with abroad rather than UK I may be wrong though however abroad or Uk wouldn't make a difference I still wouldn't let my ex take our young child on an adult only holiday because it would affect the other people he was going with not to mention being very boring for the child and I wouldn't do that to them or my child

Actually, "investedness" charts would be of great value to MNHQ (to show to advertisers). They already have the appropriate metrics:

• number of posts
• time period (slow burn or "fast-seller")
• spread of posters (showing whether it's a "minority interest" or "flash mob")
• lurkers ("watching" without participating)
• number of appeals to MNHQ, troll-hunting or appealing for an entry into Classics.

That is disappointing Bride of Wankenstein. I waited about 14 years for the third book of a trilogy to be published, and unfortunately when it was published it was not as good as the first two.

Perhaps the OP has got the hump that she is being checked-out by MNTowers and has vowed to leave us all in suspense as revenge.

What I especially like is that this thread has the potential to become a multi-pager.

The original thread had loads of troll pointers for maximum MN outrage and over-investment

1 a holiday is at stake
2 a child free holiday is at stake
3 a parent is planning to bring an unwelcome child on a child free holiday (MN has form for this being a high traffic thread)
4 the OP is upset about something, but apparently too nice to do anything about it, thus needs MN encouragement to be more assertive
5 the person planning to do the inconsiderate thing has shown signs of being a twat (women can babysit)

The line about babysitting is not that trollish. I went on holiday recently with some Italian friends (who have 3 little girls and we have 3 kids too), and after a meal in a nice restaurant in Sienna, the male friend said "right, can the women take the children outside so the men can pay" (kids had been playing up) - and I was aghast and threw DH a "why are we friends with this guy again??"

He's a lovely chap and adores his wife and kids, but he does come up with some sexist shite which I hope his girls don't pick up!
