It makes me cringe. I find it smug. AIBU?

Oh my days has been around for years as a 'cool expression'

'Allow it' meaning 'I can't believe you just said that' has been around for about 5 years (and doesn't get less annoying)

TheTravellingLemon · 01/09/2015 17:31

I don't mind most of these actually. It's like having a mumsnet accent. Maybe we are all smug twats Smile.

Hun, hubby, bubs, girlies on the other hand. Not for me at all.

DotaDay · 01/09/2015 17:39

Mmm, I don't use 'twas but I do use C'mon. How does that score on the twat'o'meter?

HellonHeels · 01/09/2015 17:49

They can all fuck off.

May I add "t'internet" and "t'interwebs" to the banned list/

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 01/09/2015 17:59

I've been seeing a lot of lol recently.

Please stop lolling.

Methinks is stupid.

I am also fucked off with the overuse of amazing, I have said this on other threads, it's/he's/she's not amazing!

thehypocritesoaf · 01/09/2015 18:03

'C'mon' is usually the sign of a sophisticated non twatty poster.

thehypocritesoaf · 01/09/2015 18:03

I use 'c'mon' a lot. Naturally.

Is naturally ok?

sugar21 · 01/09/2015 18:08

I am guilty fuckin guilty ! I have used ' Twas, I am fessing up

Shodan · 01/09/2015 18:13

I think I've also been guilty of using 'twas, on occasion.

However, I'm asserting my right to use it until MN bans the use of:

Boils my piss
Makes my teeth itch

and

Cunt.

So overused, all of them, and so dull.

clam · 01/09/2015 18:22

'Twas ever thus' has got to be a MN expression coz I heard Justine herself use it in a TV interview once.

I hate the outbreak of "Methinks" on facebook.

E.g. Methinks a cheeky drink is in order.
E.g. Methinks an early night is called for.
E.g. Methinks Methinks Methinks

Ziar · 01/09/2015 18:42

Natch we use 'twas. It's the law.

Nanny0gg · 01/09/2015 18:44

I like "just sayin' "

Just sayin...

Ziar · 01/09/2015 18:46

Boils my piss? I must admit to sniggering when I read that. Had not heard that delightful expression before!

Cunt is overused here now. But 'twas (see what I did there) only used for a deserving occassion at one time.

Puttingitoutthere · 01/09/2015 18:47

"Methinks it's wine o'clock" is a double whammy of twattism

OP posts:
Ziar · 01/09/2015 18:49

Does anyone actually say 'wine o'clock' in real life?

I find the increase of acronyms confusing. I had to look a few up the other day.

Bakeoffcake · 01/09/2015 18:50

Hate List: sweetie, hubby, No?, Hollibobs,

Make me want to puke and I agree with you OP, 'twas fits right in there.

I can't get over that nobody has mentioned "oh no" as in

"I'm not placemarking Oh no, not me. "

I can't cope with that.

reallybadidea · 01/09/2015 19:01

I'm not sure whether I've ever read it on MN or just Facebook, but when men describe their spouse as 'my good lady wife' it makes me angrier than almost anything else in the whole world.

HoneyDragon · 01/09/2015 19:02

at Usual actually having a Po face.

Are we still allowed to

Discuss. In thread title's makes my teeth itch. I'm not in bloody school and I'm not writing a bloody essay.

SenecaFalls · 01/09/2015 19:36

We don't need LOL on MN because we have this Grin and this Grin.
