To think that Coronation Street is complete and utter shit this days?

I've watched it all my life, and although it's had its ups and downs I don't think it's ever been as bad as it is now. Badly written "ishooo" lead storylines, poorly developed and one dimensional characters, clunky dialogue and appalling acting. Don't get me started on their recent obsession with stunt casting random celebrities, I don't think I've ever seen acting as bad as Sarah Hardings the other week, we now have Paddy McGuiness doing a guest stint and we have Shayne Ward to look forward to in the next few weeks. Sarah Harding didn't even audition for her role ffs, it makes a mockery of the whole thing,

I'm not sure why I even bother watching anymore? I presume it's because of habit and familiarity, but I reallt hanker after the old days. The humour, the great strong female Characters. Where did it all go wrong?

It's just so dull. The kylie storyline is so stupid. David chucked her out, then spent six months looking for her, during which time there's a stupid and pointless storyline involving Callum who is as scary as Scooby Doo. Couldn't Kylie have just visited her sister for a bit?

Exactly. I'd be more scared of Emily or Norris than the supposed drug dealer Callum, Grin.

I don't think it's utter shit but. I don't think it reflects true life but neither does EastEnders but that's another story.

the best thing about corrie is the meercats.
i wonder if shane wards character is suppose to be gay,hes very camp

Eastenders should be far more ethnically diverse than it is. They have the Masoods and Kush and that's it, and surely they should also have more Middle class professionals who commute into the city to work?

not being a southerner myself i do wonder how the people in albert square can afford to live there not many have great jobs and going by what people on here say those houses must be worth millions.

I have watched Corrie since the very first episode. The way it has deteriorated over the last few years I doubt very much that I will continue to watch it till the last episode. It is deplorable . The most stupid story lines populated by plastic characters. There are more serious crimes, natural disasters and fatal illnesses than in the whole of the BBC drama output in a year, or any other tv company come to that. Sorry it's now a waste of five good time slots.

Seriously, honest question here, how do you even find these zombie threads from over two years ago to comment on?

YABU. It's still great two years after this thread was posted.

Yanbu.
The last good plot line was when Ken discovered Deidre was having an affair with Mike Baldwin!
