Aibu to buy lego for myself

As a child I loved lego and played it with my little sister until teenage years (just a box of random pieces, no sets). I've just started playing Duplo with toddler DD and it's reminded me how great it is. However there just isn't the same satisfaction with such a limited number of pieces and currently no baseplate. Should I get myself a box of lego or should I wait until I can fully share the joy with DD? As she is not yet two, it would be a while before we could have it out in the day, but I feel silly getting it just for myself! Anyone else feel unreasonable for having children's toys as an adult?

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I got some lego from eBay and it feels so cheap! It's the lego creationary game, which is silly money new, this has come in a box and I'm fairly confident it's proper lego. Its just not how I remember it and I want to work out why! Did anyone feel the same? Does anyone have any new and old sets from their childhood that they could compare? I also have a mountain hut coming from Amazon in September so I will compare those two

Any idea what I should do with this Lego! Other than stringing up the small children as punishment

Arrietty, I'm not sure but I think it might be a softer plastic these days? Also our hands were probably a lot "bigger" in relation to the pieces when we were kids!

AndDeepBreath I did think that or perhaps I am comparing it to the feel of dds Duplo. It doesn't even make the same sound. Can anyone confirm when the plastic changed?

katystar give your dc a toothpick to get all those out the holes! How frustrating for you
