To have spent yesterday afternoon at the pub with DCs?

We got the train to our nearest seaside town. Not posh and certainly some of the pubs are not places you'd want to take kids, but after a long walk along the seafront we stopped at a standard chain pub with a pleasant garden, for a drink.

DCs had a refillable soft drink and DH & I had a pint of beer each. Dc's thought all their Christmases had come at once with unlimited fizzy drinks and we passed a very pleasant afternoon while the adults had another beer...and then another and DCs were back and forward to the drinks machine..

DCs weren't running wild, in fact they sat (in the shade) chatting and laughing with us for nearly 3 hours.

I know they had too much sugar and we were drinking alcohol in front of them Shock but AIBU to think this was a very civilised way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon?

YABU for drinking beer.

Can't stand the stuff. I'd have had a bottle or two of wine.

Angelos, do you not get out much ducky? Grin

LOL Puppy, I started drinking beer because I didn't like it. It was a deliberate ploy to slow me down when I was out with the blokes from work. Then I acquired the taste....
