Regular but NC'd for this...HELLLLP

I've been blonde before, I'm naturally ginger, wanted to dye it back to blonde. Used Jerome Russell B Blonder maxximum lift kit like I always do - it was AGONY on my scalp and I don't know why. Left it to develop for about an hour, then washed it out. THIS HAPPENED.

HELP. Someone please tell me how to fix this, bearing in mind I only have a Tesco extra near me that's open at all. How do I fix this?! It's a disaster!

Weeping scalp sounds like the start of a reaction well the burning was a clue but we'll brush over that do you have someone with you? You might start puffing up next. For the love of the sweet baby jesus do not bleach or tone or anything tomorrow.

Starbrite00 · 08/08/2015 23:48

Go to a hairdresser and never bleach your own hair.

Arranie · 09/08/2015 03:25

If your scalp is weeping you cannot put any more dye on it.

When your scalp heals I'd suggest putting an ash blonde or a dark blond or a light brown on it. Then leave it alone.

Mermaidhair · 09/08/2015 03:30

You can put a very ash blonde colour over the top and it will tone down the Orange. If your scalp is weeping, you need the Dr and then wait until it is healed. Purple toned shampoos are good if the yellow isn't to bright.

addictedtosugar · 09/08/2015 08:02

And if you've got any piriton in the house, take it.
Hope your OK today. Is there an out of hpurs near you? I think you've reached the point you need medical advice, not Dr Internet

lunar1 · 09/08/2015 08:33

I hope the weeping has settled I second taking a piriton.

ScoutRifle · 09/08/2015 09:40

This is why I will never bleach my hair again. Not even at the salon.

ahbollocks · 09/08/2015 09:47

Let your scalp heal and then put an ash blonde through, with a brush and use purple shampoo

ooarmehearties · 09/08/2015 09:48

I'm a redhead and blonded my hair for years. I use boots or super drug standard hair lightener. this gives me brassy locks. then i wait a couple of days, and use garnier luminesse pearl blonde which gets rid of the ginge but is still natural looking.
I would wait for your head to heal.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 09/08/2015 09:51

That's a chemical burn! Please go to the doctor!

Isthatwhatdemonsdo · 09/08/2015 09:56

I'm a ex hairdresser. DO NOT BLEACH YOUR HAIR AGAIN. For the love of god! As soon as your scalp was burning you should have washed the bloody bleach off!!. Get yourself checked by a doctor. Sorry to be harsh, but don't mess with bleach.

Dowser · 09/08/2015 09:58

A girl at school had chestnut brown very, very curly hair. She used to bleach it blonde. One day she came to school with it white. She showed us the blister

Dowser · 09/08/2015 10:03

Whoops. Blisters. She'd had a bad reaction . Every night she put almond oil on her scalp and her hair to recondition it.

Her hair was like that for about a month before she could Do anything else to it.

It was a time when white blonde hair wasn't fashionable on a 16 year old schoolgirl.

Hope it feels better today but you really must get professional help. You've had a chemical burn. My friend accidentally got oven cleaner on her leg and her leg went the same way. Red, sore and little blisters.

KateSpade · 09/08/2015 10:04

It doesn't look bad to me?

I'd go straight to the hairdresser when you can, don't do anymore on your own.

The day I left school I bleached my whole head of hair and dyed it purple - it ruined my hair & burnt me as well! NO MORE SELF BLEACH!

Rhine · 09/08/2015 10:11

Why on earth do some people even attempt to bleach their own hair?! It's pure madness, it's a job for a hairdresser only as you can get severe chemical burns from the peroxide as you've now found out OP.

RachelRagged · 09/08/2015 10:32

As others have said do not bleach it again , ,bad for your hair (I know this too , dark brown hair to platinum blonde, dry as straw).

Now though I buy a packet dye and its ok. Forgot to add when I went platinum that was lightning powder plus 40 volume peroxide.

Others ideas are good with the purple , ,or how bout hint of silver ? Think that's newish on market

bleachblondedisaster · 09/08/2015 10:33

Not blistered, I thought it had but it's fine. It's a little weepy but not bad at all, and I've just washed my hair again and done another intensive conditioning treatment on it. I'm fine in myself, no other reactions or anything else, so I'm going to leave it a day and then use a toner on it. My friend has suggested mixing the toner with some conditioner and leaving it on for a little longer, which sounds good. I just want the brassiness off it now. It looks glowing! But it seems to have lightened in my sleep! Strange...

Don't put anything else on it, your scalp cannot take it and it will hurt like hell.

longer term - most people can't go blonde just with bleach, you need some sort of toner afterwards. I've used Wella white lady (t18 - lightest ash blonde) which is a salon toner which you mix with developer on a friend who post bleach was about your shade and it came out a very nice cool toned blonde. You want something very cool with a lot of purple in it to offset.

Please don't put any more chemicals on your hair in the short term. It sounds like the stuff you have just used has burned your scalp. I had a similar thing years ago, at a salon. They left the dye on too long and I ended up with a burned scalp. All my hair started breaking off and the GP said the burns were nasty. My hair follicles were damaged in places and at the front the hair has very very thin (pretty see-through to be honest) because some follicles were burned to the point they were too damaged for hair to grow there again :(

Hopefully you have got away with it with nothing more than a sore scalp but I'd be very concerned if you put toner etc on it in a couple of days, you might end up with a lot more permanent a problem then hair colour you don't like.

This website has great advice when bleaching goes wrong. They have lots of experience with bleaching and are a community of US & UK mostly.

They all recommend a minimum of 4 weeks in-between bleach cycles.

EdmundSlackbladder · 09/08/2015 14:50

Can't advise about the bleach but if your scalp is weepy and starts to go dry, flaky and itchy pop to the chemists and get some oilatum shampoo. The one aimed at eczema and psoriasis NOT the anti dandruff. It's should have it cleared up for you after a few washes. Then you can look at putting a new colour on.

Fluffyears · 09/08/2015 16:27

Blonde is not a good thing to try at home it really needs a professional to do it.

Number12 · 09/08/2015 16:57

Bloody hell do not re bleach. See a doctor about the weeping!!

Number12 · 09/08/2015 16:58

Oh and do not go out in the sun. My dh did this the day before we went abroad he had to wear a cap the entire time we were there.
