Not wanting MIL to iron baby clothes?

I have a kind and wonderful MIL but the other day she mentioned I should give her some of my baby clothes we purchased and she will help wash and iron them. She is a really nice lady but as this is her first grandchild, she acts like the proverbial "child in a sweet shop" and has been buying us clothes, extra bottles (we have 12 now and even though I advised her I am planning on EBF lol) & steriliser, and she told her hairdresser abt the baby who offered us a preloved cot with brand new sheets ( even though I wanted to co sleep and am buying a chicco co sleeper that she put £40 towards) I am not used to do much excitement I suppose, and ppl fussing over us? AIBU to let her iron the baby clothes even though LO will probably puke, poop and spit all over them and they will need washing again anyway?

My Dad (83) irons everything. The army taught him that it killed germs.

My mil does more for our DCs than DM does.

It's nice to have someone who really likes babies rather than someone who tolerates them like my DM.

As an aside even though you are intending on ebf & co sleeping if I were you I'd still get bottles/sterilizer & a cot. I did ebf & co sleeping with mine but still needed the extra equipment!

That's so nice! She sounds great .

I have a lovely MIL but dh has two older brothers whose wives were very very unpleasant to her and she is really afraid to do anything now!. To the point where I have had to tell her it's ok to come over just to visit no other reason! And that yes I actually like having her here!

In the size of the babies both me and dh were big babies but I have had 5 babies ranging from 7.5 pounds down to 5.5 pounds .

Yes, yes to big babies needing 0-3 month clothes. My last baby was almost 10lb and only a few very tiny newborn clothes didn't fit. The rest of the newborn clothes fitted for about a month and the 0-3 size fitted until he was around 3 months old. 3-6 month size would have drowned him.
I'm hoping to get 3 months wear out of the 0-3 month size this time around because my mum has bought me an absolute mountain of stuff in that size.
I am also planning to EBF for at least the first 3 months but I have bought some bottles and a steriliser because you never know how these things will turn out.
Now I just need to get my mum around to iron all of the baby clothes after I have washed them. My MIL is useless and probably won't even see baby for at least the first year and even then she won't offer any practical help she will probably just bring an outfit in age 7-8
