I originally stumbled on MN about six months ago because I was googling the school I work in and found a few threads mentioning it (nothing bad!). Since then, I have become a full-on MN addict. Chat and AIBU are my daily obsessions, and Relationships has helped me out with advice on more than one occasion.

Now, the thing is, I'm not a mum. I'm not even a dad. Nor am I currently contemplating having DCs of my own. I'm a gay man in my thirties. AIB totally U to have not anticipated how much a bunch of witty, level-headed, opinionated, hilarious, compassionate people here would have taken over so much of my online time?

Yes please Op, it's sucking the life out of me. I haven't will power, the only option is to close it down.

IamtheZombie · 02/08/2015 13:59

Mumsnet rocks! It's quite happy for Zombie to shuffle around as much as she likes. It's her spiritual home.

Anniegetyourgun · 02/08/2015 14:04

Mumsnet loves you too, Zombie Smile And anyone who doesn't can just FTFOTTFSOF and all that.

WayneRooneysHair · 02/08/2015 14:04

I'm also addicted to this place, I'm married but no children (yet). My wife once asked why I like MN and I said that it can be entertaining if a little insane.

FithColumnist · 02/08/2015 14:05

Vangelina, I like Jocasta and Tarquin. Or Persephone and Atticus, perhaps?

Fith they need to be dressed in boden and eat only organic hummus from waitrose.

Enormouse · 02/08/2015 14:13

Pain au chocolat from lidl/aldi at the weekends.

FithColumnist · 02/08/2015 14:14

Hummus? Shock I was planning on quinoa and spelt, going fully organic vegan. Only the best for little Atticus and Persephone!

whatever you do don't start an aldi thread.

Enormouse · 02/08/2015 14:23

I reckon you could do a paleo wheat free vegan hybrid with some 5:2.

So just fruit and veg with a few nuts thrown in for variety from your organic farm shop. Sourced locally of course.

DameDoom · 02/08/2015 14:28

Welcome Fith. I assume you are on summer holidays too. Do you find yourself recanting mumsnetisms for the edification of your pupils? Mine are receiving a very broad and balanced education courtesy of the vipers.

MehsMum · 02/08/2015 14:49

I should be outside, in the fresh sunshiny air, doing the gardening.

Instead I am inside wondering what fith is going to cook for Atticus and Persephone this evening. Quinoa and bean burgers with a side of foraged mushrooms?

Bodicea · 02/08/2015 14:53

I curse you mumsnet. I haven't picked up a book for months because of you!!!!

FithColumnist · 02/08/2015 14:57

DameDoom: let us just say that PSHE is definitely coloured by mumsnet!

I was planning on quinoa and spelt I supect you mean farro. As soon as they can be bought from Waitrose in the provinces then they should be removed from the menu.

londonrach · 02/08/2015 18:26

Level 69 at mo. 91 is amazing.

VagelinaJolie · 02/08/2015 18:40

atticus and Persephone well done!
Have you ever been tempted to tell SLT to GTFTF? (Or year 11?)
I'm loving Mn phse. There's a scheme of work right there (or a thread)

DarkEvilMoon · 02/08/2015 19:09

Now this sounds more productive. Perhaps I should get the vipers to help with the issue of executive function, and how to promote its development. a far greater stealer of time than mn

I'd forgotten about damnyouautocorrect and someecards Zing do still sometimes find the message in a bottle site occassionally when I really want to kill time.

londonrach · 02/08/2015 19:19

Agres..have read the pigeon painting thread now...very funny. Dh (was in dog house due to dropping 6 bowls) asked me why i was laughing so much...

TiggyD · 02/08/2015 19:24

My pretend children are Mungo and Snitchly. I'm another (real) childless, partnerless, hopeless, non-female Mumsnetter.

I'm thinking of getting the PDCs a pretend pet but I can't figure out what they'd like. Mungo doesn't do non Minecraft animals at the moment but Snitchly is planning world domination in a few years time so I'm thinking she'd appreciate a cat.

ThoseAwfulCurtains · 02/08/2015 19:38

I ciuld have finished a PhD if I'd spent my MN hours on one.
I'd be a sight less educated though.
