I originally stumbled on MN about six months ago because I was googling the school I work in and found a few threads mentioning it (nothing bad!). Since then, I have become a full-on MN addict. Chat and AIBU are my daily obsessions, and Relationships has helped me out with advice on more than one occasion.

Now, the thing is, I'm not a mum. I'm not even a dad. Nor am I currently contemplating having DCs of my own. I'm a gay man in my thirties. AIB totally U to have not anticipated how much a bunch of witty, level-headed, opinionated, hilarious, compassionate people here would have taken over so much of my online time?

I was going to point out that you'd misspelt 'fifth', but I see that fith is actually a Thing. Clever.

Welcome, welcome! With our Biscuit Brew Cake and Wine we have lured many an unsuspecting newbie into the fold... I first wandered this way in 2004 and have never been able to leave.

Dowser · 02/08/2015 09:41

It's how I landed here op. googled something and found a thread here and I've been here ever since. Must be nearly a year but it feels like a lifetime.

I'm a mum but more of a gran so never thought I'd be allowed!

I admit it, i came on for a look when the Penis Beaker post was mentioned on one of those silly channel 4 programmes ' things that shocked the world' or something it was called. I know..i didnt know anything about it till then!
Had a look and thought aibu to be the best thing since sliced bread. Lol
Late to the party, but worth it
Nice that men comment and write too. It is great. Lots of different opinions.
Telly addicts is fun when x factor is on..make it your own.

It's the funniest place ever, I am childless (aunty to many though) stumbled across it, got sucked in by the hilarity....
Sometimes it can be quite evil, and it keeps me away from my friends...maybe I should LTB?

VagelinaJolie · 02/08/2015 10:32

I've been known to run down the charge on my iPad on here.
But welcome can you be my gbf? I misplaced mine years ago and need a replacement

Dowser · 02/08/2015 10:40

It was great while doing a six hour drive yesterday. When I ran out of 3 g I candy crushed!

Anniegetyourgun · 02/08/2015 10:41

There's no rule that says you have to be female, or a mother, or in a certain age bracket, thank goodness. All you need is an internet connection and the ability to type not in text speak. If you strike a false note you will be ripped to shreds though. Remember that poor lad who thought he would offer all these presumably technophobic mummies the benefit of his IT experience? I'm not sure he'll ever be the same again.

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/08/2015 10:49

You're all so lucky, when my internet allowance runs out I have to wait until the end of the month for my next fix! Envy

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/08/2015 10:53

My 1st MN anniversary will be 18th August. WineCake

FryOneFatManic · 02/08/2015 11:02

Anniegetyourgun I remember that techie thread. Can't remember if I posted, but it was so funny. Poor boy, let's hope he learned something.

rainbowstardrops · 02/08/2015 11:02

Absolute time waster!
I'm supposed to be going for a shower before I start our roast lunch ....... hope the kids aren't too hungry yet WinkGrin

BathshebaDarkstone · 02/08/2015 11:34

The great thing about smartphones is that MN's constantly on while I'm doing other things and I can just pop back and have a look! I'm currently heating up soup for lunch! Grin

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 02/08/2015 12:52

This made me properly lol.

Just make some kids up, I reckon a good third of what's posted is bollocks anyway.
Just make them entertaining but don't let them have squash or raisins

VagelinaJolie · 02/08/2015 13:26

Indeed Sock. Right op, let's get you fitted up with a new online family, I see a dd and ds, what are classic MN names?
