I've had a look at their facebook page and they don't appear to be a bunch of smirking 12 year old boys. Wtf are they thinking? Or is it only me who has the major cringe?

Yes, maybe not everyones!! But why alienate potential customers before you've even opened? It's bizarre and seems a bit clueless to me. But then what do I know? I'm only a local person who has a bit of money to spend on nights out in the neighbourhood.

Sleepsoftly

Oh. That would work with liqueurs. Not with liquors. Liquors is not an alternate spelling of liqueurs. They are different things. Liquors is always pronounced 'lickers', not 'lick-yours'.

Do we really, really want councils to have any say in what name a business trades under?

Where would that end?

FreudiansSlipper · 15/07/2015 23:18

Not very dulwich like Confused

Probably some hipster doofus who has moved from shoreditch to Peckham dulwich and feels the need to make the place real cool Hmm

I think we are meant to be shocked by their audacity Hmm Hmm

Threesoundslikealot · 15/07/2015 23:21

This place is in Southwark. I doubt they'll be rushing to do much about Pussey Liquor.

MagicMojito · 16/07/2015 00:44

"PL is a permanent pop-up restaurant"

WTF is a permenent pop-up thing?

It's either permanent or temporary (ie pop-up), no?

Or are they going to change the whole thing every 4 months, is that what they mean? OP if you're lucky maybe you won't have to put up with it for long.

Happfeet2911 · 16/07/2015 01:24

Go in there, chill out and have a drink, might not be as bad as you imagined! X

butterfly133 · 16/07/2015 01:29

What's the betting they'll have those spy mirrors into the ladies loo?

It's not even hipster, it's just puerile. I'm not asking for everything to be sanitised, I even want to save Soho....but the pathetic schoolboy humour? Eww.

Redsoxfan · 16/07/2015 02:28

That name is very unclassy

Charley50 · 16/07/2015 06:08

Well I'm the love child of Sid James and Finbar Saunders and even I find it a bit distasteful. Am I getting old?

MackerelOfFact · 16/07/2015 07:05

Do you feel the same way about the burger restaurant (think it's a chain now) Meat Liquor?

MackerelOfFact · 16/07/2015 07:08

Oh and Fuckoffee always makes me giggle when I'm walking down Bermondsey Street. Blush

Catsize · 16/07/2015 07:15

Indeed smilla, as in 'if you liquors, I'll liqueurs' (sorry, Blush )

Bannerstaying · 16/07/2015 07:17

Exactly what EDNamechanger said.

WorktoLive · 16/07/2015 07:31

Fuckoffee is brilliant but I am surprised that they are allowed to call it that.

Councils aren't generally known for their sense of humour and there are a lot of easily offended people about.

UnspecialSnowflake · 16/07/2015 07:34

Who would drink at Pussy Liquor? Nathan Barley.

RufusTheReindeer · 16/07/2015 07:42

I agree with you OP

It's dumb name, it's funny as a joke but it's not clever as a name

Although I've always quite liked the pub name 'The Wippet Inn'

kali110 · 16/07/2015 08:36

I think it's hilarious

Andrewofgg · 16/07/2015 08:43

WorkToLive Councils have no say in the matter. Even if you apply fur change of use you only have to specify the use class - not the trading name.

And a good thing too.

duckbilled · 16/07/2015 08:44

I think it's funny.... But also unoriginal.
It is the title of a very popular (if you like that genre of music) Rob zombie song.
I don't like this hipster thing.... I really don't like them ripping off everyone else, putting a beard and braces on it and thinking they are clever.

ZaZathecat · 16/07/2015 08:54

I think Fuckoffee is hilarious, it sounds like something out of a Harry and Paul sketch! (Am amazed it's allowed by the council though).
Pussey Liquor though? Nope, doesn't do it for me (in more ways than one!)

Nospringflower · 16/07/2015 09:00

YANBU - I hate it and don't think there's anything funny about it although you can see that its got people talking about it already. Still wouldn't go in it though as my own little personal protest!

LurkingHusband · 16/07/2015 09:01

How about a manual car wash called "Hand Jobs" ?
