I'm in love with the lovely Mr Jake Gyllenhaal. I can't shake it. I may have joined this Facebook fan page (cos I'm really sad......and older than most of the other members). I may have also clocked up a good few hours on YouTube and Google images.

I've developed a distressing habit of crushing on men who were gorgeous 20 years ago. Remember David Sylvian from 80s band Japan? He was totally exquisite then and now resembles a gentleman of the road. It's confusing; how can I be in love with both versions? I have to ration my YouTubing to 15 minutes every day to ease my kids complaints.

Similar situation with Brett Anderson although he's still shaggable now.

I have had weird crushes when I've had other important things going on - it's like a displacement thing I think. When I was doing my gcses My So Called Life was on and I developed a very strong crush on the gay, overly feminine character Ricky - no idea why really.

And recently I went a bit crazy about Matthew McConaughey in True Detective - yyy to everything said further up thread- the sweaty shirtlessness, the southern drawl, both the moodiness of his character and the sheer swoon-worthiness of his dimpled smile in real life (he never smiled on TD!). It was definitely pregnancy hormones when it struck a few weeks ago. I went on to watch a couple of his earlier cheesy romcoms on the Now box and felt embarrassed for the guy having to be in them, and one where he had to be attracted to SJP. It was awful. Poor soul (yeah poor him, raking it in..)
