to be suspicious of older women with totally smooth foreheads!

Was watch tv the other day and an older actress was on and I noted to my friend that she had a very smooth forehead and that she must have been at the botox. My friend had a look and said maybe she just doesn't have forehead lines? I pointed out that she had a smooth forehead even when she raises her eyebrows and my friend said she didn't either, she wears a fringe so I hadn't noticed before but she has no lines at all on her forehead at 38 (none at all round her eyes or mouth either) even when she raises her eyebrows her forehead doesn't line. She claims her mother is the same.

I just find it very hard to believe, I am 34 and have had lines on my forehead for years and so does everyone I know who isn't a child. I never thought she was the time but I now suspect her to be a secret botox user, that or nature is very unfair!

Or makeup Grin - just got out the bath

shubedo · 06/07/2015 20:41

Well not to be picky but that picture is quite blurry and my skin looks all plump and fresh when I get out the bath too so I am still not convinced.

27 and have lines. DH has more. He is only 26!

LaurieFairyCake · 06/07/2015 20:49

Not convinced about what ?

No Botox, Scouts honour Grin

BertieBotts · 06/07/2015 20:51

OK, I have one line when totally relaxed. Then lines when I raise eyebrows. DH has a few when relaxed. Really obvious, look like they've been drawn on with a marker pen when he raises brows.

BitOfFun · 06/07/2015 20:52

Spotting Botox users in slebsville is quite easy, IMO. The real giveaway is partly the shiny look, but particularly the lifted wing brows. One of Kylie's is practically escaping into her hairline.

TattyDevine · 06/07/2015 20:54

Trouble is these days if you are wrinkle free or lucky in some way people will just assume you have botox or something simply because it exists.

Its fun to try and guess who has, but its fair to give the benefit of the doubt I guess.

I get a bit Hmm when people get all pissy about other people having it though (not saying you are OP just generally). Its just a treatment that some people chose to do like dying their grey hairs. Nobody is saying you have to do it so why do some people (small percentage, most people are live and let live) so arsefacey about it. Grin

treaclesoda · 06/07/2015 20:54

This is my makeup and botox free 40 year old forehead, and I'm grinning like a weirdo and raising my eyebrows in the photo, because another poster asked about that and it occurred to me that I have no idea what my forehead looks like when I'm smiling.

I don't look young though - the frown line that I have is very aging. And my jaws are getting...slack!

56 and no forehead lines or wrinkles round my eyes!!

My chest is a little crepey, but I don't wear low tops so who cares.

I'm swearing by bio oil.

I saw a radiotherapy consultant a few months ago and had no make up on, she checked my notes, chatted to me, looked back at my notes then said... 'Can I just check, how old are you?'
'56'
'You don't look it...seriously, you really don't look it'

I have hardly any lines on my face. I'm 38. I have one very faint one when i raise my eyebrows. None in between my brows (they are high up and quite far apart - one friend calls me joker eyebrows or penfold). None round my eyes. The only faint one i had were from my nose to mouth - i had had some teeth out years earlier and the jaw bone receded and my face kind of sunk in. I had a bovine bone graft in my jaw, dental implants and fillers to plump it out 2 years ago and they have never returned.

What i do have tho is face sag. My cheeks definitely look like they are slipping down a bit. I might have something done to lift it a bit next year.

I've had quite a lot of treatment recently to reduce the redness from rosacea/broken veins. Which has developed in the last 3 years since i have had children and little sleep.

If i had lines on the forehead i wouldn't hesitate to get the botox in.

BabyFeets · 06/07/2015 21:01

My mum had no wrinkles and was 56. I think she had lines when raising her forehead though but not deep ones.
My friend is 27 and he has the worse wrinkles ever he looks 35

SaltySeaBird · 06/07/2015 21:02

My DM at 63 has none - her forehead is totally smooth. No Botox but years of expensive face creams and serums.

I didn't inherit those particular genes sadly!

code · 06/07/2015 21:04

No lines here mid 40s but I've got the beginnings of jowls and a double chin. The skinnies line more I think, I don't know what is worse. You can spot Botox and fillers easily, eyebrows up at 45 degrees and lines shifted up above where they should be for the former and the latter look like they're storing cotton wool in their cheeks. Smile

MrsKoala · 06/07/2015 21:05

I think around 40 is a really odd age. I meet people who are 40 and look really old and some which look much younger. A mechanic came to the house the other day and while chatting asked if i was planning any more children. I said i'd like to but will be 40 next year so might not as time is getting on etc. He said he was also going to be 40 next year and had a 21yo dd. I really had to try not to look shocked (botox would defo have helped me) as i would have put him at at least 55. His face was covered in very deep lines, it was also very very tanned. I couldn't believe we were the same age.

Perhaps having dc late delays the ageing - all mine has happened since my dc were born!

Theycallmemellowjello · 06/07/2015 21:08

Yabu- what's suspicious about botox. Fuck off with scrutinising women's faces.

NoelHeadbands · 06/07/2015 21:09

I'm 40, and have fine lines across my forehead, round my eyes and some bunny lines down my nose- none of which I mind, because I think they come from having a smiley, expressive face

What I HATE is the deeper horizontal line that cuts across the very top of my nose, between my brows. Makes me feel like this guy ...

And that makes me angry (you wouldn't like me when I'm angry)

bialystockandbloom · 06/07/2015 21:13

Yabu. Why on earth would you care or be "suspicious" about this? So some women may or may not have had botox. Really, so what?

BeaufortBelle · 06/07/2015 21:15

I'm 55 and pretty unlined. I think it's down to genetics - probably not lifestyle as I smoked 25 a day from 18 to 34 and enjoy a glass or two of wine every day.

But you win some and lose some. I have a bit of middle aged spread - now a generous sized 14 and my ankles swell in the heat. Oh, and a few liver spots are appearing on my hands. And DH has noticed that I'm getting a teeny bit crepey in the cleavage area - easier to cover I suppose than the face but he has always liked my generous norkage and a low cut top Grin

mimishimmi · 06/07/2015 21:43

38 isn't that old. I have a few lines (thanks Dad) but know plenty of others my age and above who don't and whom I don't think are getting Botox. I don't have crows feet but I am now religious with my application of tomato seed oil and aloe vera since the forehead lines started appearing a year ago Grin

LHReturns · 06/07/2015 21:54

I am about to turn 40, and have no forehead lines, no frown line, and minimal crows feet. I also have piles of Botox shoved in my face every 4 months and bloody love the stuff. Wish I was like all these lucky posters but I'm not!

ChilliAndMint · 06/07/2015 21:55

My beautiful SIL has had something done..goodness knows why?
She now bears a resemblance to Jack Nicholson.
What is wrong with a few expression lines around the eyes and forehead?
I could not help but stare at her.
I'm all for medical intervention if there is a problem with very saggy eyelids or a massive hooter, but she just looked plain weird...she is gorge..why?

Floisme · 06/07/2015 22:20

Not many lines but I swear my face is eroding. People with wrinkles don't know they're born.

I'm almost 50 and I don't have forehead lines. I've used cold cream since I was 17 and I swear by it. Also, genes, I'm afraid. I saw a photo of a great Aunt when she was about 70 and she had grey hair, a fat bod, but NO LINES.
