to not want to look old in wedding photos

Went to a family members wedding. It was great. The bride and bridesmaids where younger than me and in the photos I noticed how fresh faced and young they look. When I smile I have lines by the side of my eyes and underneath them. These wrinkles are newish. I'm 28. I'm not married but am now debating if asked if I should. I never noticed before but all my friends and family look young in there wedding albums. They all seem to marry around 22 to 28 and look great.

As time goes on I will only look older and I'm not even engaged yet!!

Aibu to ask how old where you when you got married and do you feel you look just as good as the others around you in your album or if your not married would you have a deadline age?

I'm nearly 47 and have never been married! Put me out to the knackers yard. I'm far too old and wizened to ever get married now.
OP, you're on a wind up, yes?

Im getting married this month. Im a size 16, my dp is 9 stone and in our wedding pictures we will probably look like Laurel and Hardy....Hmm, but... i will be happy because im marrying him so hopefully our pictures will reflect that and look beautiful.

I sort of get what you mean, in terms of there being a huge pressure to look your best on your wedding day, and you thinking that you are only going to look worse as you get older.

As someone said, if bridesmaids were only 1 year younger than you then you need to look at your skin care regime. Not get married.

Work on your self esteem. You have a partner, children and a house. Why on earth are you thinking about your face and wedding photos? Future generations aren't going to be terribly interested in your wedding photos. The fashion (clothes/hair/make up) in them is way more interesting than how old people looked.

Op, why did you have children instead of getting married? I can understand it if marriage didn't matter to you but it clearly does. Having kids is much more expensive than a wedding album. If you wanted to be married young and look youthful in the photos you should have insisted on a wedding before having kids.

Are you joking? I'm 29 next week and am getting married in 11 weeks and I'm very young definitely not old!

I got married at 25. I looked good but not as good as I did when I hit 30 and my cheekbones popped out. My looks peaked in my early to mid thirties, ironically after having had a couple of children.

Now it's downhill all the way...! Grin

What a peculiar thread.

OP, why don't you propose to your partner and get married next week ASAP?

Problem solved. Smile
