To be fed up hiding my arms in summer?

I am so fed up doing this but no idea how to get beautiful arms.

OP posts:
Peasntings · 28/06/2015 17:57

I've been convinced that I should be brave and get my fat, bumpy arms out.....well I would but I'm allergic to the sun which is the reason I cover up Sad
However, I might try it when indoors (eating out, at friends etc)
Thanks for this thread Smile

fustybritches · 28/06/2015 18:06

OP your arms are fine, you don't need to hide them.

ActiviaYoghurt · 28/06/2015 18:52

Tracey Anderson's DVD is very good

CrabbyTheCrabster · 28/06/2015 19:02

Its not the appearance of your body that matters, but the kindness of your heart.

That's lovely, that is! Smile

MrsTedCrilly · 28/06/2015 19:02

Please just get them out, no-one cares.. Don't suffer in the heat! Wear what you want Smile I spent a year in my teens in a coat and nearly passed out, never again!

HippyDippyRidingPretty · 28/06/2015 19:08

I have the same problem with my legs, but they are covered in scars. I can't bear the questions or looks so long skirts it is...

Other posters are correct though, you shouldn't feel you need to hide parts of your body. Our bodies tell a story. Every wiggle, jiggle, scar and blotch.

Wear a top you are comfortable in when in your own home then wear it to a comfortable social situation. But by bit you'll build up the confidence to not give a shiny shit.

CrabbyTheCrabster · 28/06/2015 19:15

For those who still want a little more cover up... these are the M&S ones...

CrabbyTheCrabster · 28/06/2015 19:17

They are tight fitting though, which is what I like... draw attention away from the pear-shaped lower half, and towards the big tits and (comparatively) smaller waist. Grin

Goshthatsspicy · 28/06/2015 19:17

Pilates and moisturiser are your friends.
Makes a massive difference, and not difficult.
However, l'm of the opinion, anybody with any type of looks- should be on display (if that is what you like)

Ghostlife · 28/06/2015 19:20

Thanks everyone.

Activia what is the best Tracy Anderson dvd for arms?

OP posts:
Runningupthathill82 · 28/06/2015 19:26

I wouldn't bother with a DVD - you can't beat basic old fashioned tricep dips on the edge of the sofa, and push- ups (even if you have to go on your knees at first).

But OP, just get your arms out! It's hot. And nobody cares, honestly.

CatMilkMan · 28/06/2015 19:28

Op, in the nicest way possible I doubt many people pay that much attention to you.

Cocolepew · 28/06/2015 19:30

Omega fish oils are good for the bumps on your arms or open a flaxseed oil capsule and rub it in.

Btw nobody is looking at you, wear what you want Smile

bbcessex · 28/06/2015 19:36

Exfoliation and some good fake tan improves the look of any white arms, however wobbly and bumpy .... your arms don't need to be perfect to get them out xxxx

noeffingidea · 28/06/2015 19:42

Don't know if anyone's mentioned swimming yet, but that is fantastic for toning up arms. I have been swimming regularly for 3 years now, and my arms and shoulders are now my favourite parts of my body. I do exercises with dumbells as well, when I can remember.
I agree with everyone else though, OP. Wear what you're comfortable in and don't worry about looking perfect.

Dawndonnaagain · 28/06/2015 20:51

Cornettoninja, thank you! I've spent the weekend in the garden with my arms out. It's mad, when I was young and living in London I'd tell people where to go if they were rude. Now I'm rural and very much older (I've had the psoriasis for 54 years), I don't. I've been far more conscious of it living rurally. Strange.

cherryade8 · 28/06/2015 21:11

I like wearing loose fitting t shirts with a wide strapped vest top underneath, keeps cool without too much on show I had a shock when I saw my upper arms today too

mollyonthemove · 28/06/2015 21:23

I have terrible scarring on my left arm from surgery as a child and spent years hiding it. However, I actually don't care anymore and show both arms off with wild abandon now! I only remember it when someone asks what happened.

ispyfispi · 28/06/2015 21:50

Can I recommend Ritcheys Farmers Soap for the bumpy arms? It has little bits of pumice in and is Amazing! Available from your outdoorsy/pet supplies type place....Smile

OttiliaVonBCup · 28/06/2015 21:52

Tracy Anderson Mat workout. The arms workout is great.

Also Akerat Body Cream from Avene on the KP bits.

SquareTheCircle · 29/06/2015 00:15

Someone here recommended lush buffy for arm bump. Mine has improved loads. I've started using their dream cream too. My arms look much better.

onemorerose · 29/06/2015 09:09

Loads of great tips here thanks. I too hate my arms but am losing weight and doing press ups and they are slowly improving. Fake tan is great for a quick fix.

SaucyJack · 29/06/2015 09:15

Come and stand next to me. No one will be staring at your arms then.

Mine are covered most of the way down in S/H scars. I do keep them covered in polite company because people do stare, and they do comment. Hey ho.

BoyScout · 29/06/2015 09:15

Looking good is about wearing something nice that suits your shape, not what the shape is. I have a very overweight friend who always looks lovely in summer because she wears pretty prints and tans well. I've never really noticed her arms, legs or anything else.

PrimalLass · 29/06/2015 09:42

I do a lot of fast walking and that has really helped my arms. I carry a water bottle in each hand, rather than wrist weights.
