Nerf guns

I don't like them. Lots of DSs friends have them. Lots of parents I know are happy about them.

DP has ordered them for the 3 DSs without telling me. I am v unhappy. DS1 has ADHD and has impulse issues. He is not able to stop doing something when he's 'in the zone'

DSs know he has ordered them.

MN jury do you have them?

We have an arsenal of NERF guns (mostly ds’s) and we have family NERF wars, they’re great fun 😄 we also have ADHDers in the house.

Rules:
Everyone wears safety glasses.
No shooting the cats/dog.
Don’t shoot at faces.
No shooting in the kitchen.
And once anyone says they’re out then no more shooting them.

The church vicar joins in? 😂 Bet that's an amazing sight to see. I'd love to see mine doing that

We have loads of NERF guns. Son in particular loves them and collects them but his twin sister also has a few. As others have said you do need ground rules, no face, close range, no aiming at the cats, and safety glasses.

OP you could line up obstacles, tin cans, play dough lumps, plastic drinks bottles to lessen the 'wounds'. Nerf also sells a digital target.

My 11 year old had a NERF wars party in the garden last year. It was one of the best parties we had. Kids were asked to bring their own NERFs if they had one. About 3/4s did. And some of them were like weapons of mass plastic destruction. We bought camo face paint and 500 bullets from eBay and stacked old wooden pallets and cardboard boxes as hides. Split the kids into two teams of eight and had five minutes battles thrn bullet pick ups. It was great fun. No one got injured. It was great to see all the kids, running around, squealing PLAYING and not hanging around the computer or glued to phones.

We underestimate kids, they know blue and orange plastic is a toy. I love to hear the kids tearing aound the place with NERF guns than them sitting playing fortnite (we don't have fortnite).

we have heaps of them, my husband and son have huge day long nerf battles, they have so much fun... the only rule is no aiming at me and any that hit me get taken never to be returned... its a fun way for them to hang out and let loose a bit of energy and the giggles and yells are worth picking up nerf bullets from all over the house

oh and i forgot to say they are a awesome way to get rid of cabin fever when they are stuck inside when its really bad weather
