To travel to Turkey or not.

I have booked a family holiday in August, all paid. However I am getting a bit anxious about all the new warnings about "only travelling there if necessary". In fact very anxious should I cancel?!Or am i being a drama queen?!

Look at a map. The Syrian border is a seriously long way away from any of the standard tourist places. And the terror risk levels in London are probably higher than in Istanbul.

Whether tourist spots are safer or depends on the country / threat - Sharm El Sheikh was bombed ten years ago precisely because it is a tourist spot

The FCO also put the threat of terrorism in France as "high" - I never see anyone wondering if it's safe to go there on holiday! Just stay away from the Syrian border. You'll be fine. Have a good time!
