To ruin a lovely surprise by stressing out about what to wear

So my friend has a 'big' birthday this weekend and about six months ago booked a city break for a number of friends. I decided not to go because of all the usual stuff , kids, money etc.

I have found out TODAY that as a surprise my friend and DH have booked me on the trip. I know it is a lovely gesture . I know I will have a lovely time. BUT as a mum of four I dress very very casually at all times. Doubtless most people think I am down right scruffy. I don't have anything to wear in a chic European city and I haven't been 'out' for the night in literally ten years. I have no idea what is suitable. Added to the above that I am tubby (4 c sections and minimal exercise since) with an ample bosom. There is no way on earth I am getting my bingo wings out.

I have no idea where to begin. I prob have 1 pair of black wide legged trousers and one black top I could take. Two nights and three days to fill. Not a huge budget and two days to shop with two toddlers in tow!

Please kind and stylish mnetters where do I begin?

And yes I know I being trivial and all sorts of ungrateful but HELP! ( I saw a similarish thread here a few months ago and some people had some fab ideas so I blatantly posting for traffic)

I am living in this top at the moment... perfect for a summer night out with trousers.

Buy it a size smaller though, am a 16/18 at the moment but the 14 looked better on as it is so loose. They also do some amazing elastic waisted tapered trousers in navy and blue but havent been available in a 14 or 16 for weeks now Sad.

Thanks so much everyone for all your advice. Am on a mission tomorrow so have noted all the above and at least feel there is hope for me! I am going to Amsterdam so not beachy and don't think it will be too hot. I plan on having a wonderful time but know that I will just be a bit more relaxed if I look a bit more put together than normal. Thanks again!

Do you mean me, BigRed? I didn't think I was either rude or nasty. And I def don't have a positive body image - look at my name!
I just meant this this post was massively untypical for AIBU and much more suited for S&B (Style and Beauty section of MN, OP), which is referenced by several other posters, and somewhere I VERY rarely venture.

This might help. Amsterdam is not a dressing up city ime. So don't worry too much as if it was Paris or Milan. I was overdressed the first time I went. It's so laid back. travelfashiongirl.com/what-to-pack-when-traveling-to-amsterdam/
