to expect my GP to treat DD's veruccas

DD is student 19 has 3 veruccas, called the GP today asking if she can attend the regular cryo (freezing) weds afternoon clinic to be told that she has to have used shop bought treatments first, having had them and failed miserably in the past the GP was still insistent we try again as 'things might have changed' bearing in mind she is a student the freezing bazooka treatments at £15 aren't cheap. Our GP's no longer have face to face appts now anyway, they assess over the phone before it's rare to see one, just another money saving scheme.

I have had a huge verruca on my heel for 5 years now. Had needling treatment a week ago and had to have scab cut out today. Has anyone else had this?

Another vote for banana skin.

Apple cider vinegar soaked in cotton wool and applied held on with selotape. DD is a complete wimp and wouldn't let me file it but it came off in layers. Then I forgot for a bit and we restarted . then one evening after a long bath the whole thing came off. Left a hole which has now cleared up ... I nearly sounded the Klaxon but never had any before pictures.

Chiropodist or Podiatrist treat verrucas.

When my DS was 9 he had a verruca on his big toe that was bleeding. I took him to the GP who couldn't do anything as he was diabetic so he refered him to the foot doctor at the local hospital. We would have cycled there but thought my DS might be in pain so we walked there and I arranged for my DH to pick us up. Waited 8 weeks for the appointment, that's good it's in the school holidays, got there at 9 a.m along with one hundred other children and parents. Finally saw the doctor at 12.30, he said nothing I can do as he is diabetic, why didn't he read the referral and cancel the appointment. Had to wait an hour for my DH, got home with everyone in a mood. The next day the verruca dropped off.

I think I heard some time back, that GPs no longer treated verrucas.

Freezing didn't work for me after trying, over the counter treatments, banana skin, duct tape. What did work was filing them daily for 8 months.
