Bike

My bicycle has a name. It suits her.

I am Sad because my sister's Bike doesn't. Would it be terribly unreasonable to name her?

We have an "entity" called Kowalski who will vist if DS doesn't brush his teeth. That's a bit dark, DP came up with it. Might nip it in the bud actually Confused

Dear Bunty and I are off on a jolly this weekend with like minded Pashley owners. I'll ask them what theirs are named.

I love this thread! Smile

I shall be naming my bike today as a result of it.

Psippsina · 30/05/2015 10:35

I love Mrs Pankhurst, that's genius Smile

CunningMissusFox · 30/05/2015 10:58

I reckon bikes are like horses, they need a name so you can talk to them as you saddle up, and gee them on during your ride. My noble steed is a carbon fibre beauty - white frame, red and silver trim (handlebar tape, bottle cages etc). She's always been "Princess Mipsy". I love her dearly, she gets cleaned with baby wipes and microfibre cloths.Grin

Some excellent names here, will consult the oracles that are my children on the final decision, are bikes always female by the way?

CMOTDibbler · 30/05/2015 12:58

Hmmm, neither of my bikes have names. I shall have to think about this.
Road bike seems to need a slinky name, and the hybrid something more solid somehow.

Gabilan · 30/05/2015 14:57

My Dawes was male. My Specialized is female. I don't know why.

Topseyt · 30/05/2015 15:58

DH has four bikes (seriously).

I don't cycle, but I am now feeling the need to name his bikes.

Help me with four bike names please!!Wink I am somewhat lacking in the imagination department. Blush

Gabilan · 30/05/2015 16:00

Four bikes isn't that many. What sort of bikes are they Topsey? Road bikes or mountain bikes? I'm guessing he has a commute bike if he's got 4. And colours, that would help.

Gabilan · 30/05/2015 16:01

I think the commute bike should be called Colin.

HookedOnHooking · 30/05/2015 22:20

4 horsemen of the apocalypse.

pestilence, death, ......um. and the others

Famine and War? Hmm.

Perhaps go for Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Colin. I still like the idea of Colin the commute bike.

HorsesDogsNails · 30/05/2015 22:30

My dutch style bike is called Dolly and I have yarn-bombed her basket.... We're off on a Sky Ride tomorrow! I love Dolly a lot, and I find traffic gives way to me way more often than DH on his snazzy road bike - I think her flowers make people smile!

Topseyt · 31/05/2015 02:42

Gabilan, I will probably get this wrong, but from memory there is a racer, a mountain bike, a hybrid one and some other sort rf road bike.

It seems a lot to someone like me, who has never felt comfortable on a bike.

Topseyt · 31/05/2015 02:50

Colin the Commuter sounds good for the road bike! Like that one. Grin

Richard the Racer? Harvey the Hybrid? Mick of the Mountains? Grin

Might be hitting my stride now, belatedly.

FrancesNiadova · 31/05/2015 08:14

My bike is called Lady Penelope, she's lovely!

HellonHeels · 31/05/2015 15:21

Loving Lady Penelope! and Mrs Pankhurst Smile
