Usually I manage to have

my purse
nappies
wipes
keys
a couple of random toys

What else should I always carry and not take out of my bag and leave on the kitchen worktop.

Oh, and alcohol hand gel, useful for emergency open air nappy changes

I have stuff in those see through, zip locked bags. That way you can see everything and its all very compact so you don't need a much bigger bag. Its then also easy to take out the stuff you don't need.

I tend to have a normal bag and then carry a huge tote bag for all the coats/water bottles/sling as they end up worn or in the buggy anyway.

Like a previous poster I do everything the night before/when I come home so there's no last minute rush.
I also keep a nappy, big tshirt (could possibly fit any of them and be worn with just a nappy/pants, a nappy, pants and a half full packet of baby wipes, a bottle and a small bottle pre-made long life baby milk (Take the lid off the bottle to drink the milk if needed for the older ones)
It doesn't take much room up if all rolled up inside the tshirt. I have one in the pram, one in the car, one at my mums etc. Smile

Oh well done everyone who gets things ready the night before. I should have been doing that this evening but instead lazed around on internet Blush

I carry a couple of deflated balloons in the nappy bag. Great for chasing round a park in lieu of a ball to run off toddler energy.

My DS1 was 2 two weeks before DTs born.

I used to pare it down to a small backpack change bag.

If going to restaurants, doctors or places involving waiting I had a special bag with small toys they never had otherwise - clockwork things, small bits and bobs suitable for tables.

My top tip is for clothing: leggings plus a vest with two poppers = by far the quickest change - a bodysuit with poppers down the legs - forget it. With twins we whipped the leggings off and the change was much quicker.

For my twins (nearly three) I always have:

Nappys and wipes (for one of them)
Pants and portable potty (for the other one)
2 Changes of clothes, (leggings, socks, t-shirt, pants) in a wet bag (which is then used for dirty/wet clothes)
Cups
Snacks (crackers, bread sticks)
Stickers (always always stickers! and normally crayons and small colouring book, Wilkos do these good little books that come with crayons for £1 that are small enough to stick in my bag)
First aid kit (plasters, calpol sachet, anti bac sachets, arnica, lip balm, mini sun cream, tissues)

Me:
Keys, phone, purse, umbrella, bottle of water.

I use a big tote for all their stuff and i have a tiny satchel i use for me otherwise i can never find my keys/phone.

Hi OP, I don't have 3 under 3 but have 3 kids. Something I did which saved all the carrying was to have a tub in the boot which had spare sets of clothes, extra nappies, wipes, toys etc. It meant in an emergency I only had to get back to the car,not lug everything with me.
