Topseyt · 25/05/2015 03:58

I'd bet that those calling OP vile have never had to put up with a snorer?

loveblackcats · 25/05/2015 04:42

just subtley kick him, or try rolling him over

googoodolly · 25/05/2015 04:47

It is vile to hit your partner for something they can't control when they're asleep. Imagine if she posted saying "I was asleep last night until I got disturbed by DP hitting/punching me to get me to stop snoring." - there'd be cries of LTB/he's abusive/he has anger issues and needs help. Lying next to a snorer is awful but it's not an excuse to hit or swear at your partner!

DP used to snore massively until he quit smoking. Then it was like a switch had flipped overnight and suddenly he was silent. It was bliss! He still snores occasionally if he's got a cold but it's nowhere NEAR as bad as it was and no longer keeps me awake at night. So, I do know how horrible it is to be kept awake by it. But they can't physically stop it once they're asleep, so what's the hitting going to achieve? It's just horrible.

MummaV · 25/05/2015 04:49

stuck between drunk snoring DH in bed and snoring baby in crib next to bed. I am going insane.

DH desperately needs an operation on his nose to stop the snoring, he even breathes like Darth Vader when he's awake. However, he hates doctors, hospitals etc so won't get it sorted. Nearly 6 years of his snoring, you'd think I'd be somewhat used to it....nope.

Oh and now the baby is awake. Joy! Guess I'm functioning on no sleep today!

googoodolly · 25/05/2015 04:53

That's selfish of him MummaV Sad

gofuckyourself · 25/05/2015 07:35

I can't believe people hit, swear and abuse their partners because they snore!
I snore, I can't help it its a medical problem because I have sleep apnea. I've even had surgery to correct it which failed and I'm due to have more but no guarantees it'll work. Thank god my husband doesn't hit, swear or abuse me!

EarSlaps · 25/05/2015 07:46

When they get really loud try doing a very loud clap. Should disturb them enough to stop for a few seconds at least.

I snore really badly when I'm a bit tipsy and dh can't manage to shift all 9 1/2 stone of me when I'm asleep!

Writerwannabe83 · 25/05/2015 07:47

When my DH snores it is awful and I do shove him really hard in order to wake him up. When he wakes he says, "If I start snoring again I'll go to the spare room..." and it totally gives me the rage because there's no if about it as I know he will start snoring again. I huff and puff at him and he then flounces off to the spare room.

If he goes out at night and has a few drinks he knows not to even bother coming into our room and heads straight for the spare room as his alcohol related snoring is unbearable!!

Lying in bed, shattered but wide awake because there's someone snoring loudly next to you is a special kind of hell.

My OH sometimes snores, usually when he's knackered after being up very early with DD (so I can have a bit of a lie in) then being at work, cooking our tea and then playing with DD and helping with her bedtime routine. I'll admit I've poked him in the side or tried gently turning him over, I've never actually full on belted him though and I never would! If it bothered me that much of move!

Patapouf · 25/05/2015 11:12

I think we can all agree snoring is horrifically annoying and can really impact your life if you're not getting enough sleep because of it but hitting your partner is not acceptable, at all.

There is a massive difference between shoving someone to wake them up and punching them.

DowntownFunk · 25/05/2015 11:16

Please don't hit, OP. It's just not cool to do that.

Bogeyface · 25/05/2015 13:30

AGAIN!!!!!

The OP asked if she WBU to WANT to punch him. At no point did she say she was going to!

READ THE TITLE PROPERLY FFS!

Tequilashotfor1 · 25/05/2015 13:36

bogey are we missing some posts that other posters are reading Grin

ThePinkOcelot · 25/05/2015 13:37

Dh grinds his teeth when he's had a drink. It's horrendous. I push and shove him. Yes, I know he doesn't do it on purpose but it's fucking annoying!! Shoot me!

TapDancingMollusc · 25/05/2015 13:41

I grind my teeth, and snore when I'm sleeping on my back. I've told my husband to push me so I move onto my side as I don't snore or grind then - he won't as he says it's not fair Confused and then complains in the morning that my snoring kept him awake.

This morning he was grabbing the duvet and flumping down hard and hissing for fucks sake at 5am because of this so I ignored him - he knows what to do if I do start snoring and he chooses not to do it!

TwinkieTwinkle · 25/05/2015 13:41

bogey READ THE ACTUAL POST FFS! Seriously annoying when people read a title and no further. Even more so when they attempt to say people are wrong, when they are not.

Iv even hit him and he just turned over and carried on!! Seriously!!!

motherinferior · 25/05/2015 13:45

Snoring is cruel (and I speak as an occasional snorer). Torture. No reprisals are off-limits.

Bogeyface · 25/05/2015 13:47

A hit is NOT a punch I did RTFT

TwinkieTwinkle · 25/05/2015 13:55

Semantics really bogey.

usualsuspect333 · 25/05/2015 13:55

I feel like suffocating my DP when he snores.

SabrinnaOfDystopia · 25/05/2015 13:56

Snoring is no joke for the partner - my mum and stepdad have separate rooms now because she just couldn't stand it any longer - after 30yrs+ it was that or divorce.

He would be in such a deep sleep, she also would have to shout and hit/push him to get him to turn over and nobody (not even him!) blames her.

CrystalMcPistol · 25/05/2015 13:57

I don't think it's semanticis at all. If he didn't wake up when she 'hit' him it can hardly have had much force.
