Oh my! I thought I had imagined that germoline also came in a tin. I even googled 'pink cream in a blue tin' (was blue wasn't it?) once but the Internet failed me. glad im not crazy Grin

You can apparently still get pale pink?www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/cr/B00RYP82KY/ref=mw_dp_cr

That's the cream though, not the ointment. The ointment is the thick gloopy (magical) stuff that has been discontinued.

Apparently it's because it's manufacturers, Bayer can't source one of it's ingredients any longer.

Still have a quarter of an old tin of pink Germolene from donkey's years ago: going to treat it like gold from now on.

Pipbin · 18/05/2015 21:24

This is the tin I remember.

That's my tin Smile

SisterNancySinatra · 18/05/2015 22:15

That's the greasy, stinky tin alright .

AbsentMindedNumpty · 18/05/2015 22:23

Oh god, one whiff and I'm back in the girls toilets at junior school getting germolene rubbed on a scraped knee by a teacher.

CaptainBosh · 26/04/2017 21:11

Just walked in to mild furore after seconding the germoline to treat a cut, 'you can't use that!', '...but it's exactly what I need and anyway, too late.' ... reply met with sighs and groans. This, seeming tragedy, has led me here where you guys got to the bottom of it, two years ago, crazy as a box of frogs. After dissecting the thread I can conclude that what everyone actually needs is not pink germoline ointment or white germoline cream but the defining ingredient 'zinc oxide'. Get a tub of that, job done
