Whilst I applaud the girl and her mother for trying to change peoples perception of people with Down's Syndrome, and the girl looks lovely, something about the underwear shots in particular don't sit well with me. But I am quite prepared to be told that I am wrong.

YABU She's a pretty 18 yr old modelling swimwear.

She says that she want to break down barriers, well this is an example of just the type of barrier that needs breaking down.

I understand worries about a young woman going into modelling in general (but I have no personal experience so may well be wrong!) but on account of her having DS? No, she should be able to pursue the career like anyone. It's lovely to see a more diverse range of people in magazines etc really.

She looks stunning. I have major hair envy, it's beautiful!

I work with college age teenagers with learning disabilities.

Most of them have an interest in sex and relationships. It's perfectly normal and healthy.

I think the pictures are great. If I had an issue with the bikini it would relate to how I feel about the objectification of all women, absolutely nothing to do with DS.
