Really not sure!

I have dental pain. Been coping on ABs for 2 days but tonight! I'm maxed out (probably over) on paracetamol and ibuprofen (which I probably shouldn't be taking as bf and asthmatic). Pain is intense. Up to my temple round to the back of my neck. I feel sick hot and shaky and dizzy.

Called the dental OOH, no dentists on (so dead useful) and they told me to take myself to A&E.

I'm here but feel like a fraud! It's a tooth. Other than dose me up so i can rip the fucker from my head myself what can they do??

You poor thing. This sounds horrific the dental care in this country is barbaric.

I once had a similar issue. We were living in Scotland at the time. I got on a plane and flew to my home city where my mum had actually managed to get me in as an emergency with her dentist! 550 miles I had to travel.

I have recently moved agaain and cannot get registered with an NHS dentist. I was last seen in December just before we moved. I keep considering private options. We dont have much spare cash but the NHS system is broken and your treatment in the state you are in is just so wrong. Its made me think again about going private.

I had similar but with dd who was being refused an emergency appointment after she broke her front tooth in half. I called oohs who explained that her dentist had to see her within 24 hours, they managed to fit her in after I kicked up a fuss. ( turned out her dentist was crap, has since been as good as struck off and her new dentist is fan!)

Clove oil is impressively good as a very temporary and local anaesthetic, I have a sliver of exposed tooth root and use clove oil to numb it on the bad days so I can brush my teeth!

Thanks all. storm how do you cope with that Shock

Pain has still been bad all day though a bit less and felt week and shaky and have now vomited up everything I've tried to eat argh!
