I work in the NHs and he's seen what they've done to it. Feel unreasonably miffed at him. Can't look at him without seeing Camerons fat hammy chops and wet lips emerging.

Yep me too moly. Wonder what will be left in 5 years. Worse, that DH will start wearing socks with sandals and we go on a cruise.

have you thought about calling 101? Do you feel safe OP? Surely this is, at best, an attempt to control you. See a solicitor first thing.

Marmiteandjamislush · 07/05/2015 22:51

Moly, you are being judgmental too, why can someone not think 'I don't want change right now, because we are in a mess, and I think that the current strategy is the best thing for the country as whole (fellow man) so I don't want upheaval this time around.' Not saying it's my belief, but what automatically makes this straw man a bad person. Their thought process maybe different than yours, but it's still a valid decision for them.

usualsuspect333 · 07/05/2015 22:59

I'd refuse to spend christmas with ukip voters.

code · 07/05/2015 23:01

He went asleep in his chair, woke up to the Sunderland vote and made a harrumph sound. Even the cats look disappointed.

I freely judge those who think austerity is more important than families being able to eat, the disabled and sick being able to access what they need.. List goes on.

molyholy · 07/05/2015 23:07

Maybe I am biased because my dh and I have jobs where we have been able to see the detrimental affect this government has had on the most vulnerable people in society. The working poor, the disabled, the young unemplyed. That is where our view comes from. Maybe people would change their opinions if they could see what we have seen.

Marmiteandjamislush · 07/05/2015 23:08

But what makes you so sure anyone else will change that? No Party ever fulfills all of their manifesto.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/05/2015 23:08

I hate Ukip with every fibre of my being.

My SIL has just been sold a pup by the Mail, her racist co workers, and occasional Express reading.

OP - I wasn't going to say LTB until
You said 'Pinky Ring'

You can't stay married to Pinky Ring.

code · 07/05/2015 23:21

I need to know the warning signs so I can choose DH#2 with confidence. My rah-dar failed miserably on this occasion.

uglyswan · 08/05/2015 01:33

I hope you've got separate beds, OP. And possibly separate flats. In different towns. No love for Tories. No morning coffee either.

Bodyinpyjamas10 · 08/05/2015 01:42

usual probably they wouldn't ask you! Grin

Well for me ignoring or having a flouncy tantrum is what toddlers do. You know 'agree with me or I am taking my ball home'

Adults talk and try to persuade over Christmas pudding. Smile

Sallystyle · 08/05/2015 05:51

Its a democracy. if he wants to vote for tories, it is upto him

What an insightful post! I bet the OP never knew that it was up to him who he voted for Hmm

I would be gutted op. I would view our basic outlook on life to be very incompatible but I am currently bitter and gutted so...

timeforabrewnow · 08/05/2015 06:02

I'm with GraysAnalogy here. My own brother is Tory through and through, and interestingly his 23 year old daughter is a proper leftie. He thinks this is ridiculous and part of the follies of youth. At 51 I still have all those follies, but didn't mention them to big brother as I'm a coward. I work in the NHS and he works in the City.

Code -you have my sympathies Flowers

MrsNextDoor · 08/05/2015 06:06

YANBU I felt such huge relief when I realised two of my colleagues were in fact Labour when I'd had them down as tory because they're posh...I don't even have to shag them!

feelrejected · 08/05/2015 06:23

My husband is Michael Gove

Grin

Even h, who would have voted Tory (but didn't because he only got back home at 10.30pm after being away for work), couldn't find anything nice to say about him as he sat there last night (Michael Gove), a self-satisfied toad like figure - responsible for the narrowing of the curriculum now taking effect and the aggressive forced academisation programme Angry.

FriendofBill · 08/05/2015 06:35

My boyfriend of 2 years voted Tory.
I'm a student in a health job.

i think it's the end of our relationship now. Can't get into bed with Tories.

Branleuse · 08/05/2015 06:51

fucking hell, im sorry OP. It cant work

kinkytoes · 08/05/2015 06:52

How dramatic!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 08/05/2015 06:55

I feel for you OP - I'm in Australia and my DH has just started to spout shit like "Abbott [our Prime Minister] has some good points..." Tony Abbott is a wannabe David Camoron, his Liberal party policies suck about as much as the UK Tories do. Liberals here are the equivalent of Tories in the UK anyway.

It's another really big black mark against him :(

Inlawsandoutlaws · 08/05/2015 06:55

So what? Get over yourself. We all vote differently for different reasons. What a life your DH must have

MrsNextDoor · 08/05/2015 06:59

Inlaws your partner having such vastly different ideals must be very unsettling. Perhaps you should get some imagination.

stevienickstophat · 08/05/2015 07:01

Code, you are hilarious. Given me a much needed smile this morning Grin

Oh, and LTT.

EstRusMum · 08/05/2015 08:13

Mine didn't vote and I blame him for Tory win.

IKnowIAmButWhatAreYou · 08/05/2015 08:23

I feel sorry for him, don't think I could lie next to a lefty hand-wringer at night, it'd turn my stomach....
