Hmmm she did say it was an urgent situation. Maybe she urgented away once the ass go up?

BTW is an ass the same as a mule, or is the parentage the other way around. We can discuss this exciting subject while we wait for the update.

SummerHouse · 05/05/2015 21:42

Popped back on for 21.40 update. No progress. Now I know you are my DP.

PlanningMyFuture · 05/05/2015 21:44

Nah, a mule is a cross between a male donkey and a female horse. You can kill every mule in the world without making them extinct.

MissyMistress402 · 05/05/2015 21:44

Some spectacular rant this may be given how long it is taking the OP to type Grin

PlanningMyFuture · 05/05/2015 21:45

Maybe its serious?

MummyTheGregor · 05/05/2015 21:45

DS2 19mo was admitted to hospital last night for wheezing wasn't expecting an overnight stay, but I had a few bits in the mappy bag that tided ds over but I had run out of nappies (and I nothing and was stinky and desperately wanted some clean pants and a little support from dh so I could have 5 mins imbibe a gallon of coffee.)
I called DH at 7.30 and asked if he could bring nappies asap before the school run as DS had been pooing lots (didnt realise the ward would have some till after) and pleeease bring me clean underwear too.
Hosp is 15 mins max from home so hoped he'd be in by 8.15 ish....
If was me I'd hop up scrape hair back sling ds1(5yo) into school uniform and chuck him a cereal bar to munch in the car and get over to the hospital but DH somehow took an hour to leave the house insisted that ds1 dressed himself (he's paaaauiinfully slow at this v annoying) had a shower popped into waitrose to grab pastries and coffees and arrived at 9 so ds1 was really effing late for school..... WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?????

DH is sooooooo slow to get going in the morning but this was urgent surely he can get his arse in gear to get out of the house when I needed him......

gah....

SummerHouse · 05/05/2015 21:46

So what's an ass?.... Just whilst we are waiting you understand.

MummyTheGregor · 05/05/2015 21:47

MissyMistress402 · 05/05/2015 21:47

Oops. sorry for being crass OP. Hope your son is ok.

PlanningMyFuture · 05/05/2015 21:48

Sorry to hear about DS2 - hope he is OK.

Was traffic to blame?

Cheby · 05/05/2015 21:49

YANBU OP. my DH is shit at getting going in the morning as well, but when I rang him at 5am saying I was discharging myself and 2 day old DD from the postnatal ward he was at the hospital in 35 mins. The drive is at least 25.

Tell him to buck his ideas up.

Moln · 05/05/2015 21:49

An ass is a donkey (just looked it up)

A hinny is the other way around parentage to a mule

MummyTheGregor · 05/05/2015 21:49

oh god had no idea 'ass' was vetoed on MN!
HUGE apologies - ARSE i mean ARSE - HIS ARSE!!!!!!

OP posts:
PlanningMyFuture · 05/05/2015 21:49

Ah....and what did he say? What excuses came out?

Cheby · 05/05/2015 21:50

Hope DS is ok.

MummyTheGregor · 05/05/2015 21:52

No need for apologies mners my ass/arse faux pas has made me smile and DS2 is doing ok and home wasn't super serious just wheezing and lowish oxygen but was bloody scary as not had to be admitted to hospital ever - hence DH's ARSE needing to move swiftly.

OP posts:
Moln · 05/05/2015 21:53

Oh sorry OP you came back.

No YANBU, I wouldn't be in the slightest impressed with that either

Did he bring you underwear? Hope your DS is OK now

PlanningMyFuture · 05/05/2015 21:53

I think we were all concerned that he had a donkey in his bed, some kind of Shrek-fetish thing.

But yes, he could have got there quicker and given you a break and a clean pair of undies. Guilty.

Sentence: Flowers, a weekend off, lots of pampering.

woowoo22 · 05/05/2015 21:54

YASNBU

SummerHouse · 05/05/2015 22:09

My dp is like this.

My wise mum said I need to find a way to accept it as he will not change.

I can't!

When I had ds 1 he used to rock up at about 11 by which point I would be tearing my hair out.

May I add that I was on lactulose with a third degree tear iyswim!

SummerHouse · 05/05/2015 22:09

Flowers for you op.

Northernlurker · 05/05/2015 22:25

Hmmmm - were the pastries and coffee for you? Because if they were for only him then the sentence is immediate defenestration Grin. If they were for you then he's guilty only of misplaced good will. I know you could have got your son to school on time but given the circumstances it doesn't actually matter that he was a bit late does it?

Chesntoots · 05/05/2015 22:35

I had an ex like this. Note the use of the word "ex"...

On a side note - defenestration is such an awesome word. Sadly I don't really have any reason to use it on a daily basis.

MummyTheGregor · 05/05/2015 22:47

(Free) coffee was for me pastries were for ds and dh because he didn't have time to get breakfast (grrrrrrrrr) - had to google defenestration - bloody good word and entirely appropriate action!!! Only avoided as he remembered that I like an extra shot of syrup in my coffee and he'll have had to pay 30p for it.....

I usually accept his slowness in the morning... i dont really... i try... really hard.... really really hard... but it makes me feel v stabby! sympathy to SummerHouse

Thank for the replies am much happier now because

  1. I win
  2. I have discovered a new word
  3. I am glad that DH has an ARSE and not a shrek-fetish
