To take DD swimming today

I've just changed her bum and she has diarrhoea. She's not ill, very happy playing now eating her peanut butter on toast. We haven't been swimming for about a year so really wanted to go today.

Would you take her or is she an infection risk? I don't think I could handle a brown water situation HmmGrin

If she has a bug you could be spreading that instantly to hundreds of people. That is gross and YABVU!

If I was in the water and knew you'd done that I would be very angry with you!!!

MirandaWest · 01/05/2015 10:56

Diarrhoea and Swimming pools don't go well together.

Sirzy · 01/05/2015 10:56

Yabu.

KissMyFatArse · 01/05/2015 10:56

don't take her

formerbabe · 01/05/2015 10:57

No way!

DoADittyBingBangBell · 01/05/2015 10:57

Yabvu

AuntyMag10 · 01/05/2015 10:57

Whether she's ill or not it doesn't matter , she has diarrhea! She should nor be in a pool used by other people.

FernGullysWoollyPully · 01/05/2015 10:57

If it was you with the diarrhoea, would you still go?!

Yabu

Eva50 · 01/05/2015 10:57

If you haven't been for a year then one more week won't make any difference. Don't take her.

BigFatPanda · 01/05/2015 10:59

Even if it was just once?

OP posts:
letscookbreakfast · 01/05/2015 11:00

No fucking way.

AuntyMag10 · 01/05/2015 11:01

Err yes even if it's just once. Would be pretty selfish to do that.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 01/05/2015 11:01

Ugh please don't, my children have got swimming after school today and it would ruin another bank holiday weekend for us to catch poo bugs from pool...can't believe you've even considered it tbh! Confused

threenotfour · 01/05/2015 11:02

No. It's disgusting when it gets in the pool and it could well happen even if she isn't ill. I worked a pool for a while. It's horrid for all concerned. It may not phase you as much because it's your own child but it's gross for all others staff and customers.

baies1 · 01/05/2015 11:02

You absolute rotter.

shouldnthavesaid · 01/05/2015 11:03

No. Not because of infection risk - we say 4 episodes in hospital for suspected bug , once off could be a million things - but because like you say, pooey pool water wouldn't be nice!

JemFinch · 01/05/2015 11:03

NO, just no.

DarylDixonsDarlin · 01/05/2015 11:03

And if it was just once, well she'll be fine again in a few days wont she and you can go then Smile the trouble is, you don't know if its just once until the second one happens, or they yak all over you!

Sirzy · 01/05/2015 11:04

You have just changed it so don't know if it will happen again.

Even if it is a one off doesn't mean it isn't some sort of bug anyway.

DS was sick once last night, nothing since. Probably as a result of his asthma. Kept him off school anyway, when I spoke to school this morning it turns out they have had lots of people off after having been sick just once.

TwoOddSocks · 01/05/2015 11:05

If you haven't been for a year you can definitely wait for another week! Do something else!

BigFatPanda · 01/05/2015 11:06

Grin @ rotter!

Ok we'll do something else today then. I'm just struggling a bit at keeping 18 month old dd busy. We've exhausted the park and don't want to stay in Hmm

OP posts:
straighttothepoint · 01/05/2015 11:13

FFS!!! Wait a fucking week

ItsADinosaur · 01/05/2015 11:15

No! Do you want to close the pool because of diarrhoea in the water? I don't think they'd be impressed.

Sirzy · 01/05/2015 11:16

Sorry if she has diohorea then a day in being "bored" is much better than going out and risking passing it on to others. Nicer for her too I would have tbough!

SunnyBaudelaire · 01/05/2015 11:19

that is so disgusting and minging I cannot believe you would even consider it.
