OP, I'm on your side. He really goes beyond 'excited parent', just very boring. Then again, I personally cannot stand awful, pretentious 'we're having a baby!' announcments, followed by awful week-by-week updates, pictures and videos. Really brings out the 'get over yourself' in me.
