Male friend revealed something worrying when he was drunk. AIBU to think this is really creepy and needs reporting?

He's a plumber and works for a small company that has a contract with several rental companies. When very drunk, he told me and another friend that he and colleagues play a 'game' when they're in people's houses that involves stealing a pair of women's dirty knickers and bringing them back as a trophy. Once a month they show each other their 'trophies' allocate points and whoever scores highest gets free drinks all night (the sexier the style and the dirtier/smellier the knickers the more points it gets). BTW friend is in his late 30s and not the type you would ever imagine to do something like this. Other friend was shocked but laughed and said she'd move her laundry basket out of bathroom next time a plumber came. She says its just silly fun that all men get up to!

Am I being prudish to be horrified?

"...also very very worrying as your DNA would be all over the knickers, could be damaging in just so so many ways."

Erm, I think said grubby knicker thief probably has his sights on a rather mundane sneaky wank rather then using your DNA to create a clone army of frame you for the murder of someone.

usualsuspect333 · 23/04/2015 17:32

Like this is true...

kissedbyamoonbeammyarse · 23/04/2015 17:32

Um... my wtaf is a batman wank is now...wtaf is a spiderman wank?

CaspianSea · 23/04/2015 17:38

Unfortunately I can imagine this happening in a male-dominated workplace. It probably started as one plumber finding a pair of sexy knickers in a bathroom and showing his mates for a laugh, then others copying until it turned into a sleazy competition. Just asked DH about knicker-stealing, he said used-knicker-fetishes are quite common! Confused

OP why don't you set up a hidden camera in your bathroom, put some knickers out as bait then call out a plumber from that firm!

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 23/04/2015 17:40

In a former lifetime I used to be an estate agent and while most vendors and tenants would keep their homes neat and tidy when they knew there were potential buyers conducting viewings I swear there were a sizable minority of people out there who liked to shock or just be exhibitionists. By that I mean an otherwise tidy presentable bedroom perfect in every fashion apart from the suspiciously laid out sexy nix lying across the bed or the large silicon dildo or vibe just sitting there on the bedside table. In fairness watching the reactions of some buyers was priceless, either mortified or pissing themselves laughing.

I am at the first of this today, so I was asking around and apparently there's some truth to it.

The time for women tradespeople has come. I don't know if I'd be able to leave one of these perverts alone in my house while I'm at work again.

Skeppers · 23/04/2015 17:45

'Batman wank' has better assonance, I think.

I rent a house and, frankly, if a pervy plumber wanted to do this with my rent-a-tent keks, good luck to him! Wouldn't be a 'batman wank' so much as a 'parachute wank'.

cleanmyhouse · 23/04/2015 18:10

misogynistic wankers.

Probably the only knickers they see.

hidingfromthem · 23/04/2015 18:28

i would report it.
that's really disgusting.

WineIsMyMainVice · 23/04/2015 18:36

That's awful!! You have to do something! Not sure what....
He could well loose his job if they found out. So bear that in mind.

ApocalypseThen · 23/04/2015 18:38

He's stealing women's knickers after going through their stuff. Who cares if he gets fired? Least he deserves.

TerryTheGreenHorse · 23/04/2015 19:33

That's creepy as all hell.

Only1scoop · 23/04/2015 19:34

Cleanmyhouse

Exactly

OttiliaVonBCup · 23/04/2015 19:38

Another knickers thread?

Catsize · 23/04/2015 19:47

Would be handy if they washed them and took them back.

Catsize · 23/04/2015 19:49

And then got reported to the police. Sorry. Posted early.

Jenni2legs · 23/04/2015 19:52

They would have no idea who the knickers belonged to either, so in a house with young teens they could be taking their things Sad Utterly creepy.

Painfulbits · 23/04/2015 20:08

I think you have some odd friends OP...

For what it's worth, I think it's probably BS.

Sazzle41 · 25/04/2015 00:46

Its not BS Painful . I did a phone sex job for a while, i know now never to leave a tradesman alone near the bedroom or laundry basket and never let a male friend look after my flat while I am away. I regularly got painters, plumbers, odd job men wanking into customers knickers. It was the most common call by far. Their justification was they will never know so why not. Most common call. After saddo 50 yr old guys wanking over the neighbours teen daughter.

Kleptronic · 25/04/2015 01:01

I was a lodger at uni, and my landlord did this. He told me in a club where we bumped into each other, long after I'd moved out, when he was very drunk. I had to be held back.
