YANBU, I thought it was very odd!

SirChenjin · 16/04/2015 22:47

Yep - it was baaaad. What was the purpose of it? Or was it simply more of the same nonsense we're used to seeing from the 3 of them?

BadNavyWife · 16/04/2015 22:47

I audibly eyerolled.

Janethegirl · 16/04/2015 22:47

Grown female adults don't need to cuddle surely Shock.
I absolutely hate being cuddled unless by very close family members. Even then, I just tolerate it.

BigBoobiedBertha · 16/04/2015 22:48

Didn't see the whole debate but saw the group hug on the news. Bleurgh.

YANBU

MrsCookieMonster · 16/04/2015 22:50

Imagine someone suggested finishing a work meeting with a hug between all the female participants!! I know what response I would give.

Plateofcrumbs · 16/04/2015 22:52

I'm all for it, more cuddles in politics!

SirChenjin · 16/04/2015 22:54

Agree Cookie. Was it supposed to convey the idea that "we may be politicians but underneath we're all just bestie girlfriends who like a good giggle over a glass of Pinot and don't take our jobs as seriously as these boring men" or summat?

FarFromAnyRoad · 16/04/2015 22:55

Can anyone imagine Angela Merkel getting all snuggly and cuddly in front of an audience? No? Me neither.

whats4teamum · 16/04/2015 22:56

YANBU it made me cringe. I hate ukip but preferred Nigel Farages dignified walking off the stage. The group girly hug looked like the netball team after scoring a goal. Shake hands and leave. Job done.

SirChenjin · 16/04/2015 22:57

Nope - Angela would give you a look that would sour milk if you proffered a girly group hug, and rightly so.

mommabear12 · 16/04/2015 22:58

Oh no they didn't did they?!!! I've heard it all now! Blush

BigBoobiedBertha · 16/04/2015 23:03

I suppose Plaid and the SNP aren't actually opposing each other. They have a different electorate. Maybe that makes them buddies. Not sure what the Greens were doing, joining in.

itsmeitscathy · 16/04/2015 23:06

Urgh, I can't quite articulate it but there's something about "if you want to be taken seriously..." In there. I don't want to see them hug, this election isn't about girl power or Bessie mates, let's take it seriously ladies. And I'm an SNP voter Confused

Ubik1 · 16/04/2015 23:07

I thought it was a nice gesture - why shouldn't they hug?

They weren't huggy during the debate. Definitely not.

DuchessofBuffonia · 16/04/2015 23:08

I watched the whole of the debate, but must have missed the cuddle.

I have been very impressed with the three women leaders in this and previous debates. I think united together, they are formidable enough to bring about some real change and more social justice to politics.

Overall, I've heard far more sense, compassion and integrity from those three than any of the male leaders who have seemed determined to ignore them completely, even when asked a direct question. With the absence of Cameron and Clegg tonight, the other two finally (eventually) engaged with them.

ShakesBootyFlabWobbles · 16/04/2015 23:23

These TV 'debates' are such a crock, I'm not watching them any more. It is no way to be choosing how to vote. NC and CMD made the right choice tonight, there's a first.

ShakesBootyFlabWobbles · 16/04/2015 23:23

Oh and YANBU OP.

KenAdams · 16/04/2015 23:26

Fucking bastards with their fucking hugs, who cares about what they said - they hugged! Hmm

Arsenic · 16/04/2015 23:34

Angela would give you a look that would sour milk if you proffered a girly group hug, and rightly so.

She really would Grin

sconequeen · 16/04/2015 23:41

Why shouldn't they hug? They share a lot of the same great values and they are demonstrating that politics doesn't have to be the old-boys'-network, yaboo set-up we have had in the past. Something exciting is happening in British politics...

DowntownFunk · 16/04/2015 23:41

They're friends, they hugged. Meh.

I'm more concerned about a cunt like Nigel Farage getting a platform to air his vile, racist views and the idiots that agree with him.

Arsenic · 16/04/2015 23:48

Netball! Yes! Exactly.

Kampeki · 16/04/2015 23:51

Nicola Sturgeon and Leanne Wood hugged after the last TV debate as well. It's no big deal - they have a lot in common. I thought it was quite sweet.

Politics doesn't have to be horribly adversarial!

ImNameyChangey · 17/04/2015 00:01

Better than the arseholes in the House of Commons shouting at one another and jeering like 12 year old boys!

I'd rather see hugging than that! Get more hugging women in!
