The maternity hospital waiting room, AIBU to find this absolutely disgusting? She came and sat next to me grinning and asking me questions about if I had any other kids and if I worked and I saw the brochure hanging out of her bag and went to the toilet, came back and she cornered another woman and had the brochures out showing Her. What is this company doing to people?

I have two friends that do FL. One has done it for about three years now and has finally got the message that I DO NOT WANT TO BE A REP.
The second has just started out. And she is really fucking annoying now. We are all going to a Breast Cancer charity dinner on Saturday and as an extra fundraising 'method' she has kindly offered to sell the FL juice and 'Cancer care' non salt roll on deodorant and donate the profits to the charity. I'm angry about this and I don't know why yet, I can't quite out my finger on it... The profits are going to charity, which is great, but it just seems a bit below the belt, she's not profiteering directly from it but I just feel uneasy. Can anyone shed light on why this has pissed me off quite so much?

I have used the FL stuff for years (the creams are fab for ds's eczema) but I now buy it from friend 1 when I need it and she finally understands that the hard sell won't work on me. I've never done the clean 9 shit obviously, as I'm 2 stone overweight because, as a previous poster said, if you starve yourself and drink only the aloe shit juice you're going to lose weight, but put it back on within a week.

lastuseraccount123 · 13/04/2015 21:49

Check out the "Pink Truth" blog. it's mainly about Mary Kay but all these pyramid selling schemes are the same. Much of it will remind you of FL.

Stella & Dot is like this too. I quite like their stuff, but I got tired of being pushed by my S&D friends to have a party. I don't want to have a frigging party. I just want to buy the stuff.

KatySparkles · 14/04/2015 00:03

I did the Clean9 when I was due to be bridesmaid and realised there was a high chance I wouldn't fit in the dress. It did the job but I felt horrendous (vomiting up aloe into the kitchen sink whilst crying with hunger is not an experience that I wish to repeat)

Fast forward a few months and I casually mentioned it to a work acquaintance who was a Forever Living consultant on the side. Her eyes lit up but I assured her as politely as I could that it was not something I wished to repeat.

Fast forward a few months again and I was having a really tough time. I'd just lost a baby, a close friend and a work colleague whom I was close to and was finding it difficult to cope. I was signed off with stress and the FL girl got in touch to ask if I was ok and would I like to go for a drink and a chat. It now seems so obvious where this was going but she said she knew I was struggling at work and asked if I would like to quit my job and sign up to be a Forever Living Consultant.

I was actually gutted and felt so used. Needless to say I have not been near her again since.

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 14/04/2015 02:57

To be fair to the witche's piss poor aloe vera, I became semi-addicted to a Korean(?) lychee-flavoured aloe vera drink that used to be on sale at my uni's SU. It was delicious. Probably wouldn't have been without the added lychee flavour, but it was lovely and very refreshing. I don't think it was intended to magically heal all my ills, though.

Libitina · 20/04/2015 17:54

A friend at work has started to do it and has already worked out that I am not interested. Her FB is still full of it though.

I'm surprised no reps have been on here yet? They usually all crawl out of the woodwork being very firendly and helpful and offering to help if you pm them your inside leg measurement, contact and bank details for further info.

Sparklingbrook · 20/04/2015 18:04

Grin There was one on the local FB Spotted page the other week. She wasn't actually stating what it was -just earning loadsa money etc. Quick squizz at her FB to see her grinning like a loon with the FL stuff.

DancingHat · 20/04/2015 19:26

I was FB messaged yesterday by someone I used to work with who I assumed because of our background (research) would know better than to fall for the FL crap. She wanted to invite me to share her success. I politely told her to go away, I don't believe in FL and my success will come through hard work not through selling to my friends. It's just such a load of crap.

Violalion · 19/06/2015 22:30

Firstly, I'd like to say that the woman approaching the lady in the hospital was insensitive and shouldn't have done that.
Secondly, they are a multi billion dollar company who have changed the lives of so many people. By all means, go to Holland and Barrett, but their products are low quality and the reviews speak for themselves.
Cult? Religion? Haha, you guys are cute. It's for determined and ambition people who want to make serious money.
Yes I'm a Forever Distributor, and last month I got a 7,000 bonus, meaning I'm earning 40,000 a year. I'm at manager level, I have a brand new car and an all expenses paid holiday to Cancun in September. I've been in the business for 7 months. Feel free to keep bitching, if that's how you kill time then fair play, but ambition speaks for itself. This thread has been hilarious to read, seriously do your research before you start spouting off utter crap.

Tiredemma · 19/06/2015 22:35

Are you off to the 'success day' in London this weekend vio?

FarFromAnyRoad · 19/06/2015 22:40

Oh well - thanks for the pre-bedtime laugh Viola. Of course I believe everything you wrote. I'm sure everyone else will too.
I think you'll find that we're all intelligent people here who HAVE done our research so we know your product is overpriced shite. We know that you pester your friends half to death. We know that you don't really earn 40k a year after 7 months peddling cunt oil Grin. We also know that a discussion about something isn't 'bitching' and 'utter crap'. I expect you know all that too and I hope, when your bubble bursts (because it will) that you remember that.

BitchBags · 19/06/2015 22:44

^^ what she said Grin

broomy123 · 19/06/2015 22:48

Clearly we're all jealous of 'ambition
people' Smile I don't think working a few hours selling a few products means you're ambitious?! if the products were so good the owners would sell them through retail channels like all other successful companies to make the most profit. This company makes money through vulnerable individuals investing, if it was such a viable career I would expect the media to have picked up on it by now? Please send links if it has! That's great you make 40k a year. Some of us make more than that and don't ram it down other people's throats as it's crude and bragging. Sorry but this company really grinds my gears!

BunnyFint · 19/06/2015 22:53

You seem to be missing some # from your post Violalion. Don't all posts regarding the 'wonders' of FL have to include 1) a well posed photo with lurking in the background. 2) #lovinglife #my office #Immyownboss #lovingspendingtimewithmychildrenandstillearningmoney Blah, blah, blah. 3) the obligatory fishing for new victims customers to join your 'business' 'pm me for details'

BunnyFint · 19/06/2015 22:55

Oh and 4) the obligatory picture of a white (why is it always white?) Range Rover.

bettythebuilder · 19/06/2015 23:02

I went to a social media training session for local businesses and sat next to a lady who said she was a business mentor helping people set up businesses.
I was very interested as I started my own business on my own, and she was saying how passionate she was to help others run their own business, etc etc... it was a while into our chat that I realised she was a FL rep, and her 'mentoring business' was recruiting others to FL. I think she genuinely believed that she was a small business mentor, not just another multi-level-marketing sales rep which is why it seems very like a cult to me

Summerisle1 · 19/06/2015 23:42

What a great ambassador you are for the company, eh? Still, there's nothing like a little late-night entertainment from one of the cult members is there?

Violalion · 19/06/2015 23:56

Hahahaha, you lot are a barrel of laughs.
Picking out typos and talking shit. Believe what you like, Concentrate on your own lives instead of concerning yourself with other people's.

It's a black Audi, get it right ;)

Unlikely anyone would have even looked at the 'utter crap' again before you bumped the thread, Viola, so thanks for the alert. It's likely I'll be involuntarily close to some FL peddling in the near future, and forewarned is forearmed.

Intellectually castrated?

Well, I'm convinced now. What model Audi is it, then?

ashtrayheart · 20/06/2015 00:20

Funny how no other 'career' inspires people to brag so openly about what they earn and car they drive. I have never seen it from anyone apart from flbots. It's almost like they need to recruit people rather than sell the product isn't it? Grin

CookPassBabtrigde · 20/06/2015 00:20

Is this the same sort of thing as Actiderm and JuicePlus?
I have an Actiderm friend on FB who to be fair has created a separate page for the 'business' so you don't get bombarded with the relentless shit she posts, unless you actually want to.
But another friend started the JuicePlus thing and started posting pictures of these pills and juice drinks with captions like 'did you know 1 in 5 children are now morbidly obese? Wouldn't you love to get such and such amount of nutrients and vitamins into your kids in a healthy and fun way?' Then started tagging anyone with kids in the posts, myself included. DS is 8mo and I was a bit ShockHmm so I deleted and blocked her.

Approaching people in a hospital is fucking unbelievable. There seem to be more and more of these things popping up and the way the converts talk about it gives me the creeps to be honest.

thetroubleis · 20/06/2015 00:25

Wow, now I really want to buy some aloe juice!
