Would it be childish of me to blow him off?

Angel1983 · 09/04/2015 10:50

Had a stupid argument yesterday with my boyfriend. I thought we had got over it but evidently not.

He was supposed to text me to let me know what time was convenient for me to come over to his for dinner but he didn't text me. I texted him once it became apparent that I wasn't getting an invite over to ask if he could spare me some time to talk tomorrow. The response I got was 'yeah, I can do that'. No apologies/explanation for not texting me. He is now completely ignoring me.

WIBU not to go round to his house tomorrow to talk to him and instead take my friend up on her offer of a night out with the girls? And just not tell him this and leave him hanging like he did to me last night. I am tempted but I don't want to be too childish!

Any opinions welcomed!

Life's too short to play games man.

gamerchick · 09/04/2015 10:58

You can not wait around for him though and plan your girls night put. If he gets in touch tell him you're going out and if he doesn't then you don't.

It doesn't really sound as if you're well into each other from the little you've written as it is.

squoosh · 09/04/2015 11:00

DUMP HIM NOW.

Honestly OP, get rid. If there's one thing I can't stand it's people who give the silent treatment. Rows are fine, cold silence is not fine.

billyokey · 09/04/2015 11:03

Get rid. Its very unlikely to improve from here

crimsonh · 09/04/2015 11:09

just leave it without any follow up and organize your own time from now on

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 09/04/2015 11:12

depends how long you have been together really and his other behavior in the past.

if this is a first time and you've been together a while, then, ignore it

however, if he does this a lot and you're quite new - give it up!

LittleMissRayofHope · 09/04/2015 11:14

Don't start a relationship with games. It just means that you will always be playing games.
I would just get rid. Unless there was some horrible family emergency which I would want proof of not just his sob story then he has been rude and disrespectful and is probably distancing himself from you already.

How long have you been together?

HighwayDragon · 09/04/2015 11:16

Run, run like the wind. Games are a huge, massive no!

championnibbler · 09/04/2015 11:18

oh, dump him already.
he sounds like a twat.

TerryTheGreenHorse · 09/04/2015 11:20

I would go out with your friends but I wouldn't make a game of it.

He sounds like he is playing a strange game, it's rude to ask someone over for dinner and then just not text them. I would expect if something came up this early in a relationship or actually at ANY time in a relationship a call to explain and rearrange.

Don't get involved in his games.

popalot · 09/04/2015 11:22

There will only be one winner in this game of his, and it won't be you. Don't bother with him. Move on.

Nolim · 09/04/2015 11:39

His response was childish and so is yours imo.

Angel1983 · 09/04/2015 12:00

Thanks everyone. Not been going out long. I wouldn't actually just go out without telling him. I agree that would be childish.

FarFromAnyRoad · 09/04/2015 12:06

Why do you feel the need to tell him? Do you want his approval? I don't think he's been particularly polite to you so just fuck him off and say no more about it. There's always the danger of looking like you give a shit otherwise.

Ipigglemustdie · 09/04/2015 12:11

Sorry had to giggle. Expecting something completely different reading the title. But yeah get rid

drbonnieblossman · 09/04/2015 12:13

Oh ditch him and save your self respect.

He sounds a knob who will get a buzz from having you hanging on his every word and being as he will see it, in charge.

sPJPPp · 09/04/2015 12:15

No you need to stop blowing him off!

Bearbehind · 09/04/2015 12:21

I expected something quite different too!

No offence OP but if you aren't passed the juvenile 'he's not talking to me so I won't talk to him' stage in life then this relationship is going nowhere.

OTheHugeManatee · 09/04/2015 12:21

Why don't you just ring each other?

If the answer is that you're both on your dignity and playing I-need-you-more-than-you-need-me via text message, complete with sulky significant pauses between replies, then it's not a healthy relationship.

If it's not a healthy relationship, then you should definitely go out with your girlfriends instead of giving it any more time. Don't do this just to punish him though, that's pretty insulting to your girlfriends. Go out with them to have a good time with them, and don't give this childish relationship another thought.

Angel1983 · 11/04/2015 16:30

By way of update I went round to see him yesterday and we had quite a detailed talk. The upshot is he has told me he had been devastated by an ex and he had decided he will never allow 'another bird' to get her claws into him and never to be 'emotionally crippled' by another woman.

WIBU to assume that I won't be the one to change him?

OP posts:
morethanpotatoprints · 11/04/2015 16:32

I thought you were offering him a blow job from your title.

Do you mean blow him out? Grin

pissedglitter · 11/04/2015 16:33

I would walk away from this one

Angel1983 · 11/04/2015 16:34

Oh no! I meant fail to turn up - not the other Blush

OP posts:
SmillasSenseOfSnow · 11/04/2015 16:34

Urgh, leave him to his bitterness OP, he can only stop that crap in time and without inflicting it on someone (ie you).

Nolim · 11/04/2015 16:35

emotionally crippled? Wtf does this even mean?
