fatlazy to be honest i never realised how close easter was. I was working as well and was in alot of pain. then my bank cards were counciled so made it hard to shop. they dont always have eggs because they choose to have a different treat

Can't the kids dad go get his children easter eggs? Or a neighbour?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/04/2015 15:00

I really hope this thread is a wind up but if it's real...
You can't be arsed. That's the reason. You want them to wait. Well as their mother it's place job responsibility and honor to be arsed!!!.
Imagine the disappointment on their little faces. When they wake up to no eggs. Also how will they get them Monday. The shops are closed tomorrow arent they.
Now if you said it's because I cant afford it. I guarantee not a single person would have judged you but to just not be arsed then yes yabvvvvu.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/04/2015 15:02

MsGrinch. Their dad yes but why should the neighbour go. If she (op) can't get up off her butt for her dc's why should her neighbour !!!!

msgrinch · 04/04/2015 15:03

I was being tactful incase the kids father wasn't around Grin .

Littlemonstersrule · 04/04/2015 15:04

YABU, why should your children continue to miss out as you got pregnant again. You recently posted about not wanting to go out and buy items your son needed for school.

SilverBirch2015 · 04/04/2015 15:06

Nothing left around here, except so very odd flavoured ones or £30 ones!! Buy some kinder eggs at the local newsagents!

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 04/04/2015 15:06

Where's the guy the got you knocked up?

Shock
ghostspirit · 04/04/2015 15:09

OP, you sound a bit disorganised ,tbh.
I'm getting the impression you're a single parent (apologies if I'm wrong). I am too, ever since before my youngest child was born.
My experience - you have to make an effort and do these things for your kids, because they rely on you. I always buy my kids eggs in the last week of the term at school, so I can hide them away without them seeing. Then I know it's done and paid for.

ghostspirit · 04/04/2015 15:17

fatlazy yes normally-ish i would do simlar depending on what the kids have asked for. they dont always want eggs. plus as i said i had been working and in alot of pain. had to be driven home by manager early couple of times.

Mehitabel6 · 04/04/2015 15:21

They have been on sale since practically Christmas! No point if the day has gone.

Littlemonstersrule · 04/04/2015 15:26

But you only work 16 hours a week which is practically nothing, it would have taken minutes to shop for eggs. Poor kids, an Easter egg is not too much to ask for.

ghostspirit · 04/04/2015 15:28

things are not always as they seem little

MsAspreyDiamonds · 04/04/2015 15:29

Plenty in Sainsburys as I have just bought some. They were restocking so definitely won't sell out today, they had loads.

chunkythighs · 04/04/2015 15:35

Why are you bothering to ask OP? You clearly have an answer to everything but this one question

sosix · 04/04/2015 15:38

We really struggled to get eggs anywere yesterday.

WorraLiberty · 04/04/2015 15:38

I think some people have been a little bit harsh to you OP

Mind you, I'm also at a loss as to why you started the thread if you're absolutely ok with this.

guiltynetter · 04/04/2015 15:48

doubt they'll have any. iv just been to sainsburys and Asda and there was not one to be seen. not even a crappy one or an expensive one.

you should have said in your original post your kids did have some easter eggs already just that it was the one off you that you hadn't got and you might have got nicer replies. is it you with the 17 year old who hadn't been turning up to college? send her out for some x

ghostspirit · 04/04/2015 15:51

i have not said they do have eggs :/ i have said they sometimes have altertiitves.... i give up

OP posts:
ghostspirit · 04/04/2015 15:52

SilverBirch2015 · 04/04/2015 15:59

Can't believe how judgy everyone is with OP. I got she was being a bit light hearted, but now she's being flamed and having shopping lessons from the perfect mummies. Confused

Littlemonstersrule · 04/04/2015 16:00

Why post then OP if you think YANBU.

It's quite sad to see a post where a mum admits she can't be arsed to fetch her own children an Easter egg nor supplies they need for school. Neither should the 17 year old be shopping for them, she already does a lot of childcare and jobs around the house despite you both being out of the house for roughly the same hours a week from memory.

So unless Asda bring some on Monday they won't have any? Easter is pretty much over by then and they will start to see all the little things they are missing out on due to your choices. This is the time they need to know they are not second best to the latest addition.

SilverBirch2015 · 04/04/2015 16:04

I have been known to buy eggs too early, put them somewhere secret, and then forget where. Just found after searching high and low DH's egg stashed under a bag of hay in the car Blush Me, I'm just a slattern!

ghostspirit · 04/04/2015 16:06

little why you bringing up my other situations? for your info and you should know from memory. but daughter gos college twice a week. yes she picks the kids up from school the 3 days shes not at college. and she tidys the kitchen. in return she gets money and her phone bill paid... not that i have to answer to that...

and no the kids will not completely miss out but people are choosing to ignore me saying that several times
