To be absolutely disgusted about comments on youtube re. DD

I am not a fan of plastering your child over social media/internet in general and avoid doing so as a rule.

XDH took DD to a football match on Sunday, an international between Brazil and Peru (she's 1/2 Brazilian) at the Emirates Stadium, they were briefly interviewed on the way out after the match by what looks like an Arsenal fan run organisation called arsenalfantv.com. All well and good, it was a short and innocuous experience for DD. The organisation then posted this to their youtube channel (and embedded it on their site and facebook), along with many other interviews, articles etc.

XDH texted to let me know and I went to have a look. I took a look at the comments below and was shocked to see that someone had posted "She is hot!!", there were 2 likes to the comment, there was also a reply saying that they were a regular user but have set up a new account specifically so they could agree with the comment and that she was "one of a kind" - so that's 4 people saying (or agreeing) that my 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER is hot. There were a few replies to the comments berating the posters as being sick (and other insults). Just to clarify - there was only one female in the video that they could be referring to.

I've reported the comments to Youtube but they are yet to do anything about it, I've also emailed the organisation that posted it asking for them to take it down which they are yet to reply to - the though of anyone looking at my CHILD in a sexual way is making me upset/sick/livid.

Has anyone else got any ideas as to what I can do to get this removed? Would any of you be prepared to report the comments if I gave you the link?

Remember how it used to be fashionable to sneer at those who thought there was a "paedo on every corner". Turns out they were right sadly

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 31/03/2015 18:10

Thanks for the compliments - she is lovely (although I would say that wouldn't I!), her dad was so excited and spent a fortune on the tickets, I was worried that she might be bored, but she said she loved it!

I've just emailed the Arsenal Fan organisation again - was hoping I'd have had a response by now but I suspect it isn't constantly manned. There really are some utterly horrible individuals on this planet aren't they - I have to admit to shedding a couple of tears (mainly out of anger) when I initially saw the comments.

elderflowergin I hadn't thought of that - but will do, thanks for bringing them to my attention.

I'm so sorry OP - how awful. My husband took our son to the same match and said it was a great day out and a great atmosphere.

Bloody disgusting that sickos like that get away with it.

I think that some of the responsibility here lies with ArsenalfanTV, have you tried contacting them directly?

They are on FB here www.facebook.com/arsenalfantv

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 31/03/2015 18:17

Unfortunately, this is what happens with youtube and as far as I know there's nothing you can do about it.
People have suggested that i post recordings of dds performances, but I won't for this reason and the threat of other nasty comments.

If you are the person who uploads the video you can disable comments/and or restrict who can see it....

Er. No they're not. Def trolls on every corner though...

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 31/03/2015 18:18

I've just had a response from Arsenal TV:

^Hello,

Thanks for informing me. I will disable the comments and report and ban anyone who made inappropriate comments.

Regards

AFTV^

Really good news - kudos to them for taking action.

Yay well done Cuppa! I'm really pleased for you. They worked quickly!

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 31/03/2015 18:26

Of course it doesn't resolve the fact that there are people out there looking at my daughter - but it's something.

BoobooChild · 31/03/2015 18:34

Oh Cuppa, I really am sorry. It pisses me off so much. That was a lovely day out for your daughter and her dad and it must have been exciting for her to get interviewed and some fucktards had to tar it like that. Sad

If I ruled the world the person/s responsible would be tracked down and arrested.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine it might have been trolls this time but it does feel like there are a lot more paedos than I ever realised. Every time other time I watch the news there seems to be another story of a cover up.

prepperpig · 31/03/2015 18:38

Comments are off now. Thank goodness.

Focusfocus · 31/03/2015 18:38

Couldn't see any comments or anything except the like dislike button? Sick things.

SonnyJimBob · 31/03/2015 18:40

She's beautiful OP. Glad some action was taken, YouTube seems to be full of very odd people making nasty comments. My boyfriend went to the same match and said the atmosphere was really good!

ahbollocks · 31/03/2015 18:44

Comments have been disabled. Sick bastards. If you have a screenshot then deffo take them to your police station. Cyber crime can track their ip addresses

Yanbu, there are some sick idiots out there. Glad they have disabled comments. Btw your dd is gorgeous!

resipsa · 31/03/2015 18:50

Good outcome in the end OP. Your daughter is lovely. So sorry that you had to see what others said, though. Sent a shiver down my spine when sitting next to my 4 year old.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 31/03/2015 18:50

I've just spoken to XDH, he is gutted and is going to contact them to ask that the whole video is removed (probably has more clout coming from him as he actually features in the video).

She was really excited - the first thing she said to me was "did you see me on the TV mummy!!"

OP posts:
atticusfinchatemybaby · 31/03/2015 18:54

I agree with all of the above but if it makes you feel any better i have to say i never would have guessed she was six. It's not obvious that her dad is holding her so it looks like she's the same height as him. If I'd been asked to guess i would have said she was anywhere between 16 and 20. Not that any of that excuses the constant, mindless objectification of women. Your daughter is beautiful, sadly this means she's going to have to deal with a lot of this in her life. It's tragic.

ImperialBlether · 31/03/2015 19:31

Oh come off it, atticus! It's obvious he's holding her and that she's a very young girl! How the hell can you say she looks like a woman of 20?

Discounted · 31/03/2015 19:33

I don't know, I looked again after atticus' post and it perhaps isn't as clear as it is once you know IYSWIM. Still abhorrent though.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 31/03/2015 19:35

My god - she looks and acts like a 6 yr old. Wtf are you talking about?

Discounted · 31/03/2015 19:39

I agree she doesn't look like an adult, but I don't think she looks 6 either, which is neither here or there.

Atticus don't be so moronic, it's obvious when she speaks that she's a little girl even if at first glance you think she's older.
Op I couldn't see any comments so hopefully that'll be the end of it, horrible for you though.
