Should I stay with this baby?

I'm at a theme park... A family consisting of 2 adults, 2 children around 9/10 and a baby around 1 in a buggy have just pushed the baby towards a railing, left their child in it, and all gone off to queue for a ride that's at least 30 minutes queuing time and out of sight.

(I know this because my DD and her godfather are in the queue and I've already been waiting 30 minutes.)

I can't believe people would do this??

I hope something more is done than just giving them a few words and them carrying on. It is neglect. They've probably been doing it all day.

AlphaBravoHenryFoxtons · 31/03/2015 15:27

They should have left the baby at home. Less risk of being caught out neglecting their baby. Grin

OurGlass · 31/03/2015 15:29

Any news?

NerrSnerr · 31/03/2015 15:30

Selfish bastards. People like this make me sick. Poor baby is such an inconvenience.

mammaof4girls · 31/03/2015 15:31

I cannot believe someone would be so stupid as to leave a child to go on a ride. maybe there where relying on someone like you to watch the baby (not that that makes it any better obviously) i am just trying to think why?! you did the right thing op.

qazxc · 31/03/2015 15:33

How could somebody be as dense as to do this. It makes me queasy just thinking about it.

Tiredmumno1 · 31/03/2015 15:35

I hope the manager calls the police and reports them even if they have returned.

musicinspring1 · 31/03/2015 15:37

I would have wheeled the baby away to the theme park security office. But then would I get in to trouble for abducting a baby?!?

AndHarry · 31/03/2015 15:37

Poor child :( I would be less worried about baby-snatchers than the baby being distressed at being left alone.

gaahhnonicknamesleft · 31/03/2015 15:38

Music - the Op had her own pram with her too

passthewineplz · 31/03/2015 15:38

Wow! Just wow! What's if somebody had abducted the poor baby? Hope the manager does something

Gruntfuttock · 31/03/2015 15:40

It's not normal not to know - or care that you don't know - that your baby is all right or even know for certain where it is, (as someone could've moved it). Anyone that does this is not fit to have children.

musicinspring1 · 31/03/2015 15:40

Ah ok gaahh skim reading! sorry op

Chunkymonkey79 · 31/03/2015 15:41

Disgraceful. I hope their baby is taken in by security and they get the shock of their fucking lives when they return to no baby. Might make them think in future.

SergeantJarhead · 31/03/2015 15:45

Unbelievable. How absolutely disgusting. Even if the parents turn up quickly after they get off the ride, phone the police Op. Absolutely vile behaviour.

Lilicat1013 · 31/03/2015 15:46

You know what you are getting in to taking a baby to a theme park, most reasonable people realise that means one person is going to have to sit out every ride. If that doesn't work for you then you find childcare or don't go.

I am worried what else they consider ok if they consider this ok. If they think it is fine to leave baby alone for an hour in a public space they will think nothing of popping out while baby naps at home alone.

I hope the park manager has called the police.

funnyface31 · 31/03/2015 15:48

Who on gods earth thinks this is acceptable, 2 mins is wrong. But an hour!

So sad, makes you wonder what kind of a life this poor child has at home.

M00nUnit · 31/03/2015 15:49

It doesn't need to be the park manager that calls the police - OP are you going to? I definitely would in your shoes.

pissedglitter · 31/03/2015 15:54

I can't believe people think it's ok to leave their kid for an hour because they want to go in a ride!

NerrSnerr · 31/03/2015 15:54

I'd call the police. Bet there's CCTV for evidence.

Jackie0 · 31/03/2015 15:55

Bloody hell, I wouldn't even leave my dog ! That's outrageous!

strawberrydaquari · 31/03/2015 15:58

How would anyone think this was a good idea?

bonkersLFDT20 · 31/03/2015 16:02

This makes me feel sick. My heart is racing just thinking about how scared that baby will be to wake and not know where they are or see a familiar face.

madreloco · 31/03/2015 16:03

Seriously, some people need to step away from the thread and perhaps the internet as a whole. Talk about over-invested! You don't even know if it even happened.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 31/03/2015 16:06

If this is real I am astounded by the parents' selfishness. Having a ride is more important than your BABY???? jeepers.
