A free IPad for every single member of parliament, isn't it good when we can give ourselves freebies like this. I wouldn't mind but they'll more than likely already have one.

Quite an epic flounce, particularly given that no one has said MPs are wonderful, just that this is normal for a workplace.

Oh, and that you seem to be confused between 'Parliament' and 'Government'.

Spectacular reaction. Well played, OP.

Well it's one thing to post an ill thought out thread and not be much good at sustaining a coherent argument but quite another to accuse people of things they haven't said and flounce off.

I got a laptop when I started my job. I need it as I work from home. Is that a freebie? Or just a tool to do my job? I have to be careful what I do on it as everything has to comply with IT policy.

Apparently even the MPs who are stepping down will get to keep their new IPads and laptops (hardly essential government hardware then)

Not true. The new equipment is to be provided following the election - so to all successful candidates, who will be in place (barring by-elections etc.) for the next 5 years. Parliament dissolves on Monday and all current MPs will become candidates or members of the public again - if what you said above were true they'd all have needed to take their new iPads home with them when they went home last week.
