To be angry that my doctor won't prescribe the drug I want

I went to the doctors today to try and get a prescription for diannett. It is a 'skin friendly' contraceptive pill. In other words it nukes spots and considering I'm long past the age when spots are appropriate, it is a god send. I've been on and off it for 9 years. There is a slight increase in the risk of blood clots/stroke/heart attack after two but that has never been a problem. I'm fit, healthy and every time I try another pill/acne combination, it doesn't work/I feel ill. Today the doctor put his foot down and wouldn't prescribe it. AIBU to get really angry over this? Is there anything I can do?

I am so on the same page as you Grays and Fan. I have a very new diagnosis and have really quickly come to realise that there will be times when yes I actually do know what's working and what is right for me at any given moment and must say so - and that equally I'm not a clinician so it isn't always going to be the case.

I've needed loads of pain control in these early days- I was formerly someone who barely took a paracetamol.

Re Oromorph, it just takes me to a fluffy cotton wool cloud where I just float. I seem to have an awareness of the pain, but it doesn't make me scream because I'm floating in cotton wool land.

Had a bizarre experience on the ward recently. I could feel a bit of indigestion so asked if I could have something for it. Yes said the nurse best you have some oromorph. Oh I said .... is that not a bit extreme for indigestion, I was thinking Gaviscon.

Sounds like you've got a great doc tan!! Im on tramadol for fibomialgia sp? And back damage but when the pains really bad i just have to suffer. Apprantelly its because of my age, if i were older they'd prescibe me stronger meds.
Well sorry for suffering at a young age Hmm
