I mean really and truly, aibu?

If you've never trod on eggshells before, you certainly will when you become owner of a teen.

That is all.

When my now chef ds was a teen he put milk in the kettle to boil it for hot chocolate!

My older ds nabbed our baileys bottle and drank it at a party only to replace the contexts with milk. As if we wouldn't taste the difference. The milk went off and I
Poured a glass with the candles lit and didn't notice until the first gulp of curdled milk hit my stomach. Grin

Dd is a bit of a hairy little monkey, the bathroom after shes decided to shave or Veet her legs is a treasure to behold. I usually need to put a towel wash on just for the amount she uses.

Shes like a walking scab she cuts her legs so much. Last time I asked her was she not using enough soap as she had a shaving rash. "Dunno. Are you supposed to use soap? " was the reply.
Though this was the same child who shaved half an eyebrow off because she didnt think it would work because the razor was dry.

Bogeyface · 27/03/2015 17:29

Song no there isnt a reasonable answer, which is why I really want to know what she says!

Pyjamasandwine · 27/03/2015 17:29

And naturally the bathroom
Fairy tidies up the mess. Wink

butterfly2015 · 27/03/2015 17:35

Hair dye.

So far in three years she's had her beautiful natural strawberry blonde hair that goes a lovely pale blonde in the summer ...and light brown, dark brown, blonde, dark blonde, pink, blue, a weird orange colour and currently light brown again.

It's like straw.

SideOrderofChips · 27/03/2015 17:35

I was an evil teenager.

Apparently my mother predictions has come true

DD1 is 8 and a fucking nigthmare already

LucilleBluth · 27/03/2015 17:35

StayingSamVimesGirl his band is called..... wait for it, Fat Ballerina, why you ask, because everyone likes a fat ballerina he says.... no, I have no idea either.

I actually try to say it in a nice way (seeing as it's not a nice name) but I am apparently being sarcastic Grin

Songofsixpence · 27/03/2015 17:39

She did it because......

"I painted an eye to start with but didn't like it so painted over it"

Obviously Hmm

BabyGanoush · 27/03/2015 17:40

that sounds like such a cool name

Bogeyface · 27/03/2015 17:41

Wow Song thats an interesting insight into the thought processes of a teen!

As you say, its so obvious now she points it out!

GemmaTeller · 27/03/2015 17:44

DSD used to take hours getting ready every morning,
she once took so long getting ready to go with us to pick up the new car we went without her and she hadn't noticed we'd been out.

Her bedroom was like a floordrobe then when she got a car that was a floordrobe on wheels.

'Have you shut your bedroom window?'
'yeeeessssss' with a huff and a sigh.
'Have you unplugged your straighteners?'
'yeeeessssss' with a huff and a sigh.
'Have you switched your TV / PC / laptop everything else off?'
'yeeeessssss' with a huff and a sigh.

On going upstairs to double check, guess what - window wide open, straightens still plugged in, tv blaring out.........

DS once tried to get me to have a new hall stairs and landing carpet fitted before his new girlfriend came over....Grin

Kbear · 27/03/2015 17:47

Gather in people.... group hug....

It's so good to know we are not alone in this madness

My dd about to sit GCSEs - I call it "waking the Kraken" when I go in in the morning to say goodbye as I leave for work at 7am.... yes yes yes to "I feel ill" every day..... yes to falling in love with her all over again when she does or says something lovely.....

It's an emotional rollercoaster people, and it's a helluva ride!

MyballsareSandy · 27/03/2015 17:53

DD2 rang me as she left school today asking for a lift. I said no, it's a lovely day, it's a mile away and it would take me longer to drive in traffic than it would for her to walk. She huffed and puffed and hung up.

She then text me - I repeated the above.

This was followed by 12 missed calls - I refused to answer them. No point in repeating the above yet again.

Then another text arrives "Why do you make me dislike you so much" Shock!!

GemmaTeller · 27/03/2015 17:53

When she was younger....

DSD 'Can I have a horse?'

DH 'who's going to clean it out, feed it, groom it?'

DSD 'Can you not pay someone to do it?'

Pyjamasandwine · 27/03/2015 17:58

fat ballerina Grin

Dd has currently many shades of red in her hair and her older brother told her she looked like a house fire. GrinShe laughed.

If me it dh had said that it would have been WW3.

Heaven forbid they have to walk anywhere! Are you trying to kill her myballsaresandy??

One of the battlegrounds is dinner. I never make her anything she likes. Ever. I once had dinner waiting for her coming in from school and she went mental because it was pork chops. The row that ensued was epic culminating in her screaming "I'm going to report you!" I said, I'll get you the number for childline, I'm sure they will be really interested to hear about the hot dinner waiting for you" at which point she realised how utterly ridiculous she sounded.

Dp made shepherds pie. I don't like it. It's mince! I don't like mince. You eat spag bol and chilli. That's different, this has got gravy. You like gravy. Yes but this is different gravy. No it's not, it's bloody bisto. Cue stomping off refusing to eat. Oh well, the cat enjoyed it.

Pyjamasandwine · 27/03/2015 18:22

stronger is it not Wine o'clock?

You could toast her while you walk back from the fridge

Lancelottie · 27/03/2015 18:22

DS manages to be utterly unreasonable in the opposite direction, Butterly. Work experience (he'd arranged it through school) in another town:
'How are you getting there?'
'I'll just have to walk, won't I? I'm not soft'

So, that would be 8 miles each way in the dark, DS? No problem...

StayingSamVimesGirl · 27/03/2015 18:25

Well - that's you shown then, isn't it, Strongerthan! Grin. Bless her.

Fat Ballerina is a fine name for a band, Lucille.

That reminds me, Strongerthan - the death-cloud of Lynx that makes its way into every corner of the house - strong enough to taste - no, strong enough to cut with a knife!

It is weaponised fragrance - pure and simple.

catzpyjamas · 27/03/2015 19:06

By the end of next month I will have no teenagers!! Oldest turning 20 and youngest has 6 years until they hit teenage.
So by May my house will be a haven of calm, won't it? Will it?
Someone please tell me the 7 year sentence ends and I come out into the light? Please? Anyone???......

Andrewofgg · 27/03/2015 19:20

kissedbyamoonbeammyarse · 27/03/2015 19:22
